Okay, so I’ve been seeing “Gris Charnel Extrait” all over my social media, and you know me, I get curious easily. So, I decided to get my hands on a sample and see what all the hype is about.
First, I checked a few online stores where I usually buy perfume samples. I found one that had it in stock, so I ordered a small vial. It arrived pretty quickly, maybe in like three or four days.
My First Impression
When I first sprayed it, wow, it was STRONG. Like, really intense. I definitely got a big blast of cardamom and black tea right away. It was kind of spicy, but also a little bit sweet. After a few minutes, I started to smell the fig and iris, which made it feel a bit more powdery and sophisticated.
- Top Notes: Cardamom, Black Tea, Fig – I definitely got these right away.
- Middle Notes: Iris, Bourbon Vetiver – These came out a bit later, and they were lovely.
- Base Notes: Sandalwood:,Cendr:I can feel these notes and smell woody.
I wore it around the house for a few hours to see how it would develop. I noticed that the strong, spicy opening settled down quite a bit, and it became a lot smoother and creamier. I could really smell that sandalwood coming through, which I love.
Wearing it Out
The next day, I decided to wear it out to a coffee date with a friend. I only sprayed it twice because I remembered how strong it was at first. I think that was a good call. It felt a lot more subtle this time, but still very present.
My friend actually commented on it! She said I smelled “really good, kind of mysterious.” So, that was a win. I felt like it was a good scent for a casual, but slightly dressed-up occasion.

My Final Thoughts
I have to say, I’m pretty impressed. It’s definitely a unique *’s not something I’d wear every day, but it is perfect. I’m very glad to share this with all of you.
