Okay, so today I wanna talk about my experience with the Lebron Soldier line. I’ve been playing ball for years, and I’ve gone through my fair share of shoes. When the Soldiers first came out, I was intrigued, you know? Lebron’s main line was always a bit too bulky for me, but the Soldiers looked like they might be a good fit.

My first pair was… I think it was the Soldier 3s. Man, those were tanks! I remember grabbing them off the shelf, feeling that thick strap, and thinking, “These are gonna lock me down.” And they did! I felt super secure on the court. The traction was insane, I could stop on a dime, no problem. I played in those things for like two whole seasons, outdoors and indoors, until they were literally falling apart.
My Soldier Journey
- Soldier 3: The “Tanks”. Super durable, amazing lockdown.
- Soldier 7: A little lighter, still great support. I remember liking the colorway on these, something with a lot of black and red.
- Soldier 10: Whoa! These were different. No laces! Just straps. I was skeptical at first, but honestly, I loved them. So easy to slip on and off, and they felt really snug.
- Soldier 12(present pair): Currently I’m using these, and felt very comfortable.
I skipped a few models in between, tried some other brands, but I always found myself coming back to the Soldiers. They just fit my foot well, and I like that secure, strapped-in feeling. I’m not a super flashy player, I’m more about power and driving to the basket, so the Soldiers’ support is perfect for my style.
The Soldier 10s were probably my favorite, just because of how unique they were. Putting those on felt like getting ready for a space mission or something, haha! But all of them have been solid. They’re not the lightest shoes out there, but I’ll trade a little weight for that feeling of stability any day. I really appreciate I can use it for a long time.
I’ve recommended the Soldiers to a bunch of my teammates over the years, especially the guys who like to play rough under the basket. If you’re looking for a shoe that can handle some abuse and keep your feet feeling safe, you should definitely check them out. They’re not for everyone, but for me, they’ve been a game-changer.
Currently I’m still wearing Soldier 12 for basketball practice and games, no complaints so far.
