So, let’s talk about this whole Swatch Moonswatch Snoopy Black thing. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one of these for a while now, and I finally did it. Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy, but it was totally worth it.
First off, I had to do a bunch of research. I mean, you can’t just walk into any store and grab one of these. They’re not limited edition, but Swatch said they can be a pain to find. I guess because everyone wants that cool Speedmaster “Snoopy” vibe, and this all-black version is just sleek as hell. It is also quite affordable, just a bit over 300 bucks. Anyway, I found out that they were gonna drop on April 8th, along with the new moon, which I thought was a pretty cool detail.
So, I marked the date on my calendar and started hunting for stores. I called up a few Swatch boutiques, you know, just to feel out the situation. Some places were like, “Yeah, we’ll have them, come on down.” Others were a bit more vague, like, “We might get some, not sure how many.” It was a whole thing. And there’s no online option, you gotta go in person. I did find some online listings for around $350, but I wasn’t about to pay extra for that.
On the day of the launch, I decided to hit up the store that seemed most promising. I got there super early, before they even opened. And guess what? There was already a line! I was like, “You gotta be kidding me.” But I waited it out, chatting with some other folks in line who were just as determined as I was. It was actually kind of fun, sharing that anticipation with other watch nerds.
Finally, the doors opened, and it was a bit of a mad dash. People were practically running to the counter. Thankfully, I managed to snag one. They had a limited number, of course, and I’m pretty sure they sold out within like, an hour. The watch itself? Man, it’s even better in person. It’s got this black Bioceramic case, 42mm, which feels really nice and solid.
The moon phase thing with Snoopy is just awesome. They call it “NEW MOON”, not limited, but elegant. And yeah, I’ve been wearing it non-stop ever since. It’s a conversation starter, for sure. People keep asking me about it, and I’m always happy to share my little adventure of getting one. All in all, it was a fun experience, and I’m super happy with my new Moonswatch. If you’re thinking about getting one, be prepared for a bit of a hunt, but trust me, it’s worth it!
