Okay, so I’ve always seen those gorgeous red-soled shoes, “Louboutin,” but I was never quite sure how to say it. It looked French, and my high school French is, well, rusty to say the least. So I decided, once and for all, to figure out the correct Louboutin pronunciation.

My Quest for the Perfect Pronunciation
First, I hit up YouTube. I figured there had to be a video of someone saying it, right? I typed in “Louboutin pronunciation” and, boom, tons of videos popped up.
I clicked on a few, but some were kinda cheesy, like those “learn 100 French words!” videos. Not what I was after. I wanted to hear someone who, you know, actually knew what they were talking about.
- I watched one video with a fashion blogger – she seemed legit.
- She repeated it a few times, and I tried to mimic her accent.
- It sounded like “Loo-boo-tan,” with the “tan” part being kinda nasal, like a proper French “n.”
I practiced saying it out loud, maybe ten or fifteen times. “Loo-boo-tan… Loo-boo-tan…” My cat gave me a weird look, but I persisted.
Then, I decided to get a second opinion. I checked out some online dictionaries that have audio pronunciations. Merriam-Webster, for example. Yep, they had it, and it sounded pretty much the same as the fashion blogger. Score!
The Final Result
After all that, I feel way more confident. I can now drop “Louboutin” into conversation without feeling like a total idiot. I even practiced on my friend, and she didn’t laugh, so I must be doing something right! It’s “Loo-boo-tan,” people! Go forth and pronounce it with confidence!
