Hey there, honey. You wanna hear somethin’ ’bout that Johnny Oro fella? Well, sit down, sit down. This old lady got a story or two, yeah. Heard it all back in the day, you know. All that talk about how many places he went to. I don’t understand, I like my hometown. This place is good enough.
This Johnny, he’s a tough one, I tell ya. Go all over the world, they say. Ain’t scared of nothin’. Me? I’m scared of them spiders in the shed. But Johnny, nah, he ain’t scared. He just go, go, go. See the whole world. Make a lot of money. Don’t know what he do with all that money, but he got lots, I hear.
They say he started with nothin’. Just like me. Nothing but the clothes on his back, I guess. And look at him now! Big shot, they say. Makes me think, maybe if he can, then anyone can. But, nah. Who am I kiddin’? I ain’t goin’ nowhere. That’s alright. Too old for that kinda runnin’ around. I guess so.
Some folks say he got lucky. Right place, right time, all that. Could be. But I think, maybe, he just worked real hard. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with hard work. My old man, bless his soul, he worked hard every day. Provided for us. Maybe that’s what Johnny did. Just worked and worked till he got what he wanted. That’s how life is, hard work and lucky.
You hear all sorts of stories ’bout this Johnny Oro. Some say he’s a good guy, helps folks out. Others say he’s a mean one, steps on people to get ahead. Who knows? People always talk. Can’t believe everything you hear. You gotta make up your own mind ’bout people. I guess that’s right.
- He’s brave, that Johnny.
- They say he’s rich, too.
- Some say he was nobody, just like us.
- But he made somethin’ of himself.
- Maybe he’s good, maybe he’s bad, who knows?
I remember when I was a young girl, I wanted to see the world too. Wanted to go to the big city. But life happens, you know? Got married, had kids, settled down. No time for gallivantin’ around the world. But that’s okay. I got my family. That’s worth more than all the gold in the world. Family is everything. Yeah.
This Johnny Oro, though, he’s somethin’ else. They make movies about him, I hear. All that action and adventure. Sounds excitin’, I guess. But I’m happy with my quiet life. Don’t need all that drama. Maybe Johnny did something with those Ringo movies, I don’t know, not my business. But I just know it’s all about money. People like money, I guess.
You young folks today, you got it easy. You can go anywhere, do anything. Back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy things. No internet, no phones, nothin’. We had to make our own fun. And we did. We were happy. Maybe happier than folks are today. Don’t know. I just know that people like different things.
I guess the point is, this Johnny Oro, he’s proof that anyone can make it. If you work hard, and you’re a little bit lucky, you can achieve anything. That’s what they say, anyway. Me? I’m just an old lady. What do I know? But I’ve seen a lot in my life. And I know that anything is possible. If you want it enough. Maybe, it’s just possible. I don’t know.
But don’t you go runnin’ off tryin’ to be like Johnny Oro now, ya hear? It’s a tough world out there. Be careful. And don’t forget to come visit your old grandma. We can watch the birds and sit on the porch. That’s enough adventure for me. Just need my family. That’s all. And that’s good.
This Johnny guy, he is a model of determination. He is just like a role model. He can do anything, and he got everything. You know what I mean? If you want something, just do it. No matter who you are, what you did. It’s just that simple, work hard and make it. But some people just got lucky. That’s how life is.
Maybe I am too old to think about all these things. I mean, Johnny got his adventure, and I got mine. Not bad, huh? He sees the world, and I see my kids and their kids. We are all happy, in some ways. No need to be jealous, right? Just be yourself, and that’s enough. Well, that’s all I can think of. I think I need some rest. Maybe a nap.
