Okay, so I had this idea to see what I could get done in just 10 hours. No crazy planning, just a simple “let’s see what happens” kind of experiment. I kicked things off by grabbing a cup of coffee – gotta have that fuel, right?

The Start (Hour 1)
First hour, I brainstormed a bit. I didn’t want anything too complicated, just something I could actually finish. I jotted down a few random ideas on a scrap of paper, things like “finally organize that junk drawer” or “try that new cookie recipe.” Finally, it’s clear that i will build a simple landing page.
Getting into Gear (Hours 2-4)
- Hour 2: I spent sketching out a rough layout of the landing page on paper. Nothing fancy, just boxes and some scribbled notes.
- Hour 3: I find some free template online. I chose a basic HTML and CSS template, I opened up my code editor.
- Hour 4: I started coding. I replace some basic placeholder text and image.
The Grind (Hours 5-8)
This is where the real work happened. I spent a solid chunk of time just plugging away. I was filling in the content, tweaking the colors, and making sure it looked okay on my phone (because, you know, everyone’s on their phones these days). There were definitely moments where I got stuck. I had to google a few CSS things because I’m no expert, but I figured it out eventually.
Almost There (Hours 9)
I added some finishing touches. I found some free stock photos that looked decent and swapped out the placeholder images. I also ran the page through a basic validator to make sure I didn’t have any glaring errors. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely presentable.
The Finish Line (Hour 10)
The final moments! I uploaded to my little testing server. And…it worked! It’s not going to win any awards, but it’s a functional landing page, built from scratch (well, with a template assist) in 10 hours. It’s a little rough around the edges, sure, but I was pretty happy with what I managed to do. It was fun to see how much I could actually accomplish in a limited amount of time.
