Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with figuring out “how much are end returns”. Sounds a bit confusing, right? I mean, what even is an “end return”? It took me a while to realize it’s the money you get back at the end of an investment, like a bond. But, like, how much is that, you know?
First, I tried to get a basic understanding. I started searching around, you know, just typing stuff into the search bar. I found some stuff about algebra and equations. I did find something about percentages, which I thought might be helpful, but it was mostly about, like, how much to tip at restaurants. Not exactly what I was looking for.
Then I started digging deeper into this whole “bond yield” thing. I finally figured out that bond yield is basically what you get in return from a bond, from when you buy it until it’s, like, done.
So, I felt I was getting somewhere. But it still felt a bit over my head. I was still trying to put the pieces together. And I don’t have any fancy tools, just using what I got.
I mean, it seemed like there were a bunch of steps to follow. Like the steps in a reflection process mentioned in some content about the six stages to think about your experience. I guess you could call this reflection. You gotta figure out what you’re feeling, evaluate, analyze, figure out a conclusion, then make a plan. Yeah, that sounds about right for figuring out these returns.
Here’s what I did:

- Feel it out: I was pretty confused at first, but I kept at it.
- Evaluate: I realized that just searching wasn’t enough. I needed to learn more about what a bond is.
- Analyze: I started to see that this “bond yield” thing was important. It’s like, the main part of figuring out the end returns.
- Conclude: This is way more complicated than I thought.
- Action plan: I’m gonna have to study up on bonds and yields some more to really get this.
In the end, I did get a general idea of what end returns are, and how bond yield is a big part of it. But I also realized I’ve got a lot more to learn. It’s not as simple as just plugging in some numbers and getting an answer. But hey, at least I made a start, right? And that’s what counts.
It is a hard journey for me, but I will keep on it!
