How Long Does Glaze Last on Hair? Get the Facts Here!

Okay, so I’ve been trying out this hair glaze thing, and I wanted to share how long it actually lasts. I was curious, you know, ’cause who wants to keep doing their hair every other day? Not me!

How Long Does Glaze Last on Hair? Get the Facts Here!

My Hair Glaze Experiment

First off, I got this glaze treatment done, hoping it would give my hair some extra shine and tame the frizz. The person at the salon said it’s not like permanent color, it just coats the hair, making it look all glossy and smooth.

  • Day 1: Right after the treatment, my hair looked amazing! Super shiny, like I just stepped out of a commercial.
  • Day 3: I washed my hair for the first time since the treatment. I used a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo ’cause I heard that’s better for treated hair. It still looked pretty good, but I noticed the shine wasn’t as intense.
  • Day 7: Okay, a week in, and the glossiness was definitely fading. My hair still felt softer than usual, but the wow factor was kinda gone.
  • Day 10: I washed it a couple more times, and honestly, it was almost back to how it was before the glaze. The frizz started to creep back in, too.
  • Day 14: Two weeks later, I feel like the glaze was pretty much gone. My hair didn’t look bad, but there was no real difference from before I got the treatment.

So, from my little experiment, the glaze lasted about a week before it really started to fade. By two weeks, it was like I never even had it done. I guess it depends on how often you wash your hair and what kind of shampoo you use. I wash mine every other day and try to stick to gentle shampoos, but maybe if you wash it less, it might last a bit longer.

Honestly, the glaze was nice while it lasted, but I’m not sure I’d do it super regularly. It’s more like something I’d do for a special occasion if I want that extra boost of shine. Otherwise, it’s back to my usual hair routine!

I heard that if your hair tangles easy or gets frizzy, these glazes can help. They smooth down the hair so it doesn’t get all tangled up. Guess that makes sense, but for me, it didn’t last long enough to make a huge difference in the long run. I think I have to do another glaze to maintain results.
