Historiques 222 Price Guide: How Much Does It Really Cost? (Learn Everything About This Amazing Watch)

by Alice Browne

This watch, this here Historiques 222, it’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. Heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market the other day. Said it’s some fancy, expensive thing. Well, I ain’t never seen one up close, but I heard enough to make my head spin.

They say it’s made by some fancy company, name of Vacheron Constantin. Never heard of ’em, but they sure do charge a pretty penny for this thing. Some folks say they cost more than my whole house! Imagine that! This thing probably can feed my family for a year. I don’t know what rich people think.

From what I gathered, this Historiques 222 is a new version of some old watch. They call it a “re-edition.” Like they took an old one and made it all shiny and new again. They say it’s made of gold, yellow gold. Must be real fancy. That is why they are expensive.

  • Gold, you know, that shiny stuff.
  • They say it’s 37 somethin’ – millimeters, I think they said. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds important.
  • It’s supposed to be real thin. Like a piece of paper. Can you imagine?

This Historiques 222, it ain’t for folks like me, that’s for sure. It will cost a lot of money. We’re just tryin’ to put food on the table and keep a roof over our heads. But I guess some folks got money to burn. They can buy whatever they want. No one can stop them.

They say this new Historiques 222 is just like the old one, ‘cept for a few things. They made it better, I guess. More comfortable, they said. And it works better. ‘Cause who wants an old watch that don’t work right? Even if it is made of gold. And it looks better. I don’t think I can understand that.

This whole thing got me thinkin’. What’s so special about a watch, anyway? It just tells the time, right? My old clock does that just fine. It ain’t made of gold, but it gets the job done. Why does it cost so much money?

I guess some people like to have nice things. Things that other folks can’t afford. Makes ’em feel special, I reckon. And this Historiques 222, it sure seems like one of those things. A real status symbol, as they say. That is what rich people like.

But you know what? I’m happy with what I got. I got my family, my home, and my old clock. That’s all I need. I don’t need no fancy gold watch to tell me I’m doin’ alright. I can just use my old clock.

This Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222, well, it’s just a watch. A very expensive watch. And I heard they ain’t easy to get either. You gotta be somebody special to get your hands on one of these. Or you just need to be a rich man.

Maybe that’s why they call it the “Jumbo.” ‘Cause it takes a jumbo-sized wallet to buy one. Or maybe it’s ’cause it makes a jumbo-sized hole in your pocket. Either way, it’s a lot of money for a watch. And I don’t understand why.

I guess some things in this world just ain’t meant for folks like me to understand. Like why this Historiques 222 costs so much. Or why people would pay that much for a watch. But hey, some people are rich. They can do that kind of things.

  • This new version, this “re-edition,” is part of some collection. The Historiques collection, they call it.
  • They say it’s only 7.95 somethin’ thick. That’s real thin, I guess. Thinner than a pancake!
  • It’s all shiny and new, but it’s supposed to be just like the old one. Except better.

I saw some pictures of watches that looks like this Historiques 222, and they costed a lot. Some were around $23,000. That’s a lot of money. And some were even more, like $69,000! Can you believe that? For a watch! What are they thinking about?

I wouldn’t pay that much for a watch even if I had all the money in the world. I would buy a house or a car. But I guess some people are different. They like to spend their money on things like this Historiques 222. And that’s their business, I suppose.

But me? I’ll stick to my old clock. It may not be fancy, but it tells the time just fine. And it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. It is very cheap. That is what I like. And that’s all that matters to me. So I don’t need this Historiques 222 at all.
