Far Away Bali on a Budget: Tips and Tricks

by Rod Nichol

Alright, let’s gab about this Bali place, this “far away Bali,” you know? I heard folks talkin’ ‘bout it, seen some pictures too. Looks fancy, but what’s it really like, huh? Let me tell ya what I gathered, just plain and simple, like it is.

Far Away Bali on a Budget: Tips and Tricks

Gettin’ There and Stayin’ Put

First off, gettin’ there, that’s a whole thing, ain’t it? It’s far, real far, like they say. Gotta fly on them big metal birds, and that ain’t cheap, I reckon. But once you’re there, where do ya stay? They got all sorts, from shacks to palaces, I hear. Now, if you’re like me, watchin’ your pennies, you ain’t gonna be livin’ it up in no palace. You’ll find somethin’ decent, though, a place to lay your head.

  • Cheap digs: You can find places, they say, for real cheap. Just a bed and a roof, nothin’ fancy. Keeps the rain off your head, that’s all you need.
  • Middle-of-the-road: A little nicer, maybe a fan, maybe even a TV, though I don’t see why you’d need one on vacation. You’re there to see things, not sit inside!
  • High-falutin’: Now, these are the places for them rich folks. Big pools, fancy food, people waitin’ on ya hand and foot. Not for me, I tell ya.

Money Matters

Talkin’ ‘bout money, that’s important. How much do ya need for this “far away Bali” trip? Well, it ain’t free, that’s for sure. Some folks say you can get by on a thousand dollars for a week, but that’s if you’re careful. Real careful. You gotta eat, gotta get around, gotta see some things. And them souvenirs, they always get ya, don’t they? Little trinkets and such. Next thing you know, your money’s gone!

So, let’s say you’re smart about it. You eat where the locals eat, not in them fancy tourist traps. You walk or take the cheap transport, not them fancy cars. And you don’t buy every little thing you see. Then, yeah, maybe a thousand dollars is enough. But if you wanna live it up a bit, you’ll need more. Maybe two thousand, maybe more. It all depends, see? It all depends on how you roll.

Things to See and Do in “far away Bali”

Now, what’s there to do in this “far away Bali”? Well, from what I hear, it’s a pretty place. Lots of beaches, lots of temples, lots of…waterfalls, I think they said.

Beaches: They got beaches, white sand and all. You can swim, you can lay in the sun, you can watch the waves. Just like any other beach, I guess, but maybe prettier. They got one called Virgin Beach. Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Pure and clean, like it oughta be.

Temples: And these temples, they’re somethin’ else. Old buildings, all carved up and fancy. Places where they pray and do their rituals. I ain’t much for religion, but I appreciate a good buildin’ when I see one. It takes hard work and skill, that’s for sure.

Waterfalls: And the waterfalls, oh my! I seen pictures, water comin’ down like a big ol’ shower. Kanto Lampo Waterfall, that’s one they talk about. Sounds powerful, sounds beautiful. Makes you feel small, I reckon, standin’ next to somethin’ like that.

Other stuff: And there’s more, I’m sure. Markets, where you can buy all sorts of things. Food, clothes, knick-knacks. And dances, them fancy dances with the colorful costumes. And music, different from what we got here, that’s for sure. It’s a whole ‘nother world, they say.

Reviews: You know, I was hearin’ some folks talkin’ and there are a whole mess of reviews out there on this Bali place. Millions, I tell ya. People writin’ about the best things to see and do. Guess that helps a body decide what’s worth seein’ and what ain’t.

So, Is It Worth It?

So, is this “far away Bali” worth the trip? Worth the money, worth the time? Well, I don’t know for sure, never been there myself. But from what I gather, it’s a special place. A place where you can see things you ain’t never seen before, do things you ain’t never done before. A place to relax, a place to explore, a place to…well, a place to get away from it all, I guess.

But you gotta be smart about it. You gotta plan ahead, gotta watch your money, gotta be respectful of their ways. It ain’t like home, that’s for sure. It’s different, it’s exotic, it’s…far away. And that’s part of the appeal, ain’t it? Goin’ somewhere far away, seein’ somethin’ new. Maybe one day I’ll get there myself. Maybe one day I’ll see this “far away Bali” with my own two eyes. But until then, I’ll just keep hearin’ stories and lookin’ at pictures. And dreamin’, maybe. Dreamin’ of a place far, far away.
