Eighties Song Lyrics Youll Never Forget (Simple Hits We Still Sing Along To)

by Cornell Yule

So, yesterday I was trying to recall a song from the ’80s. You know, one of those tunes that gets stuck in your head but you can’t quite place it? Well, I started by trying to hum the melody. I even tried using Google’s “hum to search” feature, but no luck there. It kept giving me songs that were way off the mark.

Next, I downloaded Shazam and SoundHound, hoping one of them could identify the song. I played a snippet of the song from an old mixtape, and bam! SoundHound nailed it in seconds! I was so relieved. Turns out, it was “Never Forget” by Take That. I’d totally forgotten about that song!

After finding the song, I went on a little ’80s music deep dive. I found a bunch of websites listing popular songs from that decade, and it was a real trip down memory lane. There were lists of song lyrics categorized by artist and title, which was pretty cool. I spent hours browsing through them, rediscovering classics I hadn’t heard in ages.

I even stumbled upon some discussions about the social messages in ’80s songs. Like, did you know that “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel is packed with historical references? It’s amazing how much meaning can be packed into a catchy tune.

Then I found this website with an alphabetical list of song lyrics from the ’80s. I had fun browsing and clicked on some songs that brought back memories. Songs like:

  • Africa – Toto
  • Who Can It Be Now? – Men At Work
  • When Smokey Sings – Abc

I ended up creating a playlist of all my favorite ’80s songs. It’s got everything from power ballads to synth-pop anthems. It’s like a time capsule of awesome music. The guitars are so punchy and they have some mental acuity messages.

It’s funny how a simple search for one song turned into a whole exploration of ’80s music. It just goes to show how much great music came out of that decade. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go blast my new playlist and maybe even try to learn some of the lyrics. Catch you later!
