Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here Audrey Hepburn and her hair in that movie, Roman Holiday. I ain’t no fancy hairdresser, mind you, but I can tell ya what I see. And what I see is a whole lotta fuss over a haircut!
Folks keep talkin’ ’bout this “iconic” look. Iconic, my foot! It’s just a short haircut, ain’t it? But I guess it looked real nice on her, that Audrey gal. She was a pretty little thing, that’s for sure. Skinny as a rail, though. Probably didn’t eat enough, bless her heart.
Now, in the movie, she goes and gets her hair all chopped off. Long hair, gone, just like that! Poof! And then she’s got this short, curly bob. Some folks call it a pixie cut. Whatever you call it, it’s short. And curly. That’s about it.
- First, she had long hair.
- Then, snip, snip, snip, it’s short!
- And then, it’s all curly. Like a poodle, kinda.
I seen some folks tryin’ to do that same haircut themselves. They got their curlers and their sprays and whatnot. Spendin’ all day in front of the mirror, fussin’ and fixin’. I tell ya, it’s a whole lotta work for a haircut. But I guess if it makes ya feel pretty, then go ahead and do it.
They say it’s “timeless” and “elegant.” Well, I don’t know about all that fancy talk. To me, it just looks like a nice, neat haircut. Somethin’ a gal could wear every day, ya know? Nothin’ too crazy or out there. Just… nice.
Some folks are makin’ videos and writin’ articles and whatnot, all about how to get this Audrey Hepburn Roman Holiday hairstyle. They’re usin’ words like “recreate” and “elevate.” Sounds like a whole lotta hooey to me. But I guess that’s how they make their money, bless their hearts.
If you ask me, the best way to get a good haircut is to go to a good hairdresser. Someone who knows what they’re doin’. Don’t try to do it yourself, unless you know what you’re about. You’ll end up with a mess, I tell ya. A real mess.
And another thing, don’t go thinkin’ that a haircut is gonna change your whole life. It ain’t. You’re still gonna be you, no matter how your hair looks. But if a new haircut makes you feel a little bit better about yourself, then that’s a good thing. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with feelin’ good about yourself, now is there?
So, this Audrey Hepburn hair, it’s a big deal, I guess. People are still talkin’ about it, all these years later. And they’re still tryin’ to copy it. Well, good for them. I say, if you like it, go for it. But don’t go breakin’ the bank over a haircut, ya hear? There’s more important things in life than hair.
But I gotta say, she did look real cute with that short hair. Made her eyes look bigger or somethin’. And it seemed easy to take care of, which is important. Ain’t nobody got time for fussin’ with their hair all day long, not me, that’s for sure. I got things to do, ya know? Gotta cook dinner, gotta clean the house, gotta feed the chickens. Hair’s the last thing on my mind, most days.
But I do like seein’ pretty things. And that Audrey Hepburn, she was a pretty thing, with or without that fancy haircut. Just a nice, sweet-lookin’ gal. And that’s the truth.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some biscuits. All this talk about hair is makin’ me hungry.
