Okay, so, I recently had a little shopping spree at Neiman Marcus, as one does. I bought a few things online, but then when they arrived, some of them just didn’t work out. You know how it is, sometimes things look different in person, or the fit is just off. So, I needed to figure out their return policy, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey, but I finally got it sorted out. I took notes along the way, so I would not make mistakes again.

First thing I did was hop onto their website to see what their policy even was. I found out that Neiman Marcus generally gives you 30 days to return stuff. That’s cool, a month is a decent amount of time to make up your mind.
- I went ahead to check the items whether they were eligible to be returned. I checked the website again, and it says altered apparel, special orders, perishable or personalized items, and “final sale” items cannot be returned. Luckily, all my items were regular items.
- Then, I started to dig a little deeper. The items had to be in the same condition I got them in – you know, unworn, undamaged, with all the original tags and packaging. I made sure I hadn’t ripped off any tags or anything. The stuff I was returning was basically brand new, just like when it arrived at my doorstep.
Next, I had to decide how to return the items. You’ve got options, which is nice.
- I learned that Neiman Marcus online or catalog purchases can be returned to any Neiman Marcus store. I thought about taking them to the store, but honestly, I was feeling a bit lazy.
- So, I opted to return them by mail. I went on to create a return request in my order history. There are different couriers, but I chose FedEx. I was told that a return fee will be applied to each return. There was a return fee, but hey, it’s better than being stuck with something I won’t wear.
- I packed up the items carefully in the original box, printed out the return shipping label they provided, and slapped it on the box. Then, I just dropped off the package at a FedEx store.
I kept an eye on the tracking, and a few days later, I got a notification that they received my return. A little while after that, I got my refund credited back to my original payment method. Sweet!
Here’s the thing to remember:
- 30 days to return most items.
- Items must be in original condition, unworn, with tags.
- You can return online or in-store.
- There might be a return shipping fee if you return by mail.
All in all, it wasn’t too bad. I mean, returning stuff is never fun, but at least Neiman Marcus makes it relatively straightforward. And now, I have my money back, and I can put it towards something I’ll actually love and use. Just remember to double-check the tags and packaging before you rip anything off!
