Discover Albuquerque: Relive Breaking Bads Best Moments.

by Doreen Robbins

Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with “Breaking Bad” lately. I mean, who isn’t, right? And it got me thinking, “I gotta see Albuquerque for myself!” It’s not just about the show, though. The city itself looked amazing in the series, with all those desert landscapes and that crazy blue sky. So, I started planning this whole trip around visiting “Breaking Bad” filming locations and soaking in that New Mexico vibe.

Finding the Spots

First things first, I needed to find all those iconic spots. You know, Walter White’s house, Los Pollos Hermanos, Jesse’s place. It was all a big part of the experiance.

I started digging around online, looking at fan pages, and found a bunch of stuff. Turns out, a lot of people are into this “Breaking Bad” pilgrimage thing! It’s kind of a fun game.

The Actual Adventure

Man, let me tell you, actually being there was something else. I drove around, following the map I’d cobbled together.

  • Walter White’s House: Okay, so this was a bit weird. Turns out, real people live there (obviously!), and they’re not super thrilled about tourists all the time. I get it, though. I just took a quick picture from across the street, tried to be respectful, and moved on.
  • Los Pollos Hermanos: This was awesome! It’s actually a Twisters restaurant, and they totally embrace the “Breaking Bad” connection. I grabbed some burritos (no chicken, sorry Gus!), and sat there, just soaking it all in. It felt surreal.
  • Jesse’s Place:I couldn’t find Jesse’s place.
  • The Car Wash: The car wash is a real, operating car wash! I even got my car washed there, just for kicks.

Beyond the Show

Albuquerque is more than just “Breaking Bad,”. I spent some time exploring the Old Town, which is super charming with all those adobe buildings and little shops. I also checked out the Sandia Peak Tramway, which takes you way up into the mountains. The views from up there are insane – you can see the whole city and miles and miles of desert.

Final Thoughts

It was such a cool experience, mixing the “Breaking Bad” stuff with just exploring a new city. It was really a great experiance.I even bought a “Better Call Saul” t-shirt as a souvenir. I’m already thinking about going back someday!
