Well, howdy there! Let’s chew the fat ’bout this fashion thing, this “fashion buzz,” they call it. I ain’t no fancy pants city gal, but even out here in the sticks, we see things change. Like them city folks wearin’ them ripped-up jeans? Lord have mercy, we been wearin’ ripped-up clothes for years, just call it workin’ clothes!
Seasons and Such
Now, they tell me there’s all sorts of fashion seasons. Spring and summer, fall and winter, and some other fancy names I can’t even pronounce. Spring’s when the flowers pop out, and folks start wearin’ bright colors, like them dandelions in the field. Summer, well, that’s when it gets hotter than a hen house, so folks wear less, I reckon. Short sleeves, them shorts that barely cover the behind, you know the type. Fall is when the leaves turn all pretty colors, and folks start puttin’ on more layers. Sweaters and such, keep the chill out. And winter, well, that’s when you bundle up like a tick on a dog, gotta stay warm!
They got these big fancy shows in cities like New York and Paris. “Fashion Week,” they call it. Shows off all the new clothes. I saw on the TV once, all them skinny models walkin’ around in clothes I wouldn’t wear to slop the hogs. But hey, to each their own, I say.
- Spring/Summer: Flowers and sunshine clothes.
- Fall/Winter: Leaf colors and warm clothes.
Trends, They Call ‘Em
Now, these fashion folks, they always talkin’ ’bout “trends.” What’s hot and what’s not. One year it’s all about big, poofy sleeves, the next year it’s all tight and slinky. Can’t keep up, I tell ya. This year, they sayin’ lace and frilly things are back. Reminds me of them doilies my grandma used to make. Said it was from the “Spring/Summer 2025 runways”, whatever that means. Sounds like a bunch of chickens running around to me.
And colors? Don’t even get me started. One minute it’s all bright and loud, the next it’s plain and dull. This year, they sayin’ wearin’ all the same color is the thing. Head to toe in blue, or red, or whatever. Like a darn blueberry, I guess. They also sayin’ jackets and pants, like what that fella Usher wears. And some gal named Murphy wears another kind of jacket.
My Kind of Fashion
Now, me, I like clothes that last. Clothes that can take a beatin’. Good, sturdy denim. Flannel shirts that keep you warm. Boots that can stomp through mud and muck. That’s my kinda fashion. Comfortable and practical. Don’t need no fancy labels or high prices. Just good, honest clothes.
I ain’t sayin’ fashion is bad, mind you. It’s just not for me. But if them city folks wanna wear their fancy duds, that’s their business. Me, I’ll stick to my overalls and my worn-out boots. They might not be fancy, but they get the job done.
So, what’s this fashion all about then? I figure it’s just folks tryin’ to express themselves, same as singin’ a song or paintin’ a picture. Some folks like to shout it out loud with bright colors and crazy styles, some folks like to keep it quiet and simple. And that’s just fine. You wear what makes you happy, I say. And don’t let nobody tell you different. Life is too short to worry about what other folks think of your clothes. Just make sure you’re comfortable and you can move around good. That’s what matters.
Finding Your Style
They talk about finding your “individual style”. Well, that ain’t hard. Just wear what you like. If you like bright colors, wear ’em. If you like plain clothes, wear ’em. Don’t let nobody tell you what you can and can’t wear. It’s your body, your clothes, your style. And if someone don’t like it, well, bless their heart, that’s their problem, not yours. You ain’t gotta be wearin’ what those high-falutin’ folks in magazines wear. You just be you.
And remember, clothes don’t make the person. It’s what’s inside that counts. You can be wearin’ the fanciest dress in the world, but if you ain’t got a good heart, it don’t mean a thing. So, be kind, be honest, and be yourself. And don’t worry too much about fashion. There are more important things in life.
Classic Pieces Never Go Out of Style
Now, some things just stick around, like them old blue jeans or a good, warm coat. They call ’em “classic pieces.” They last forever, seems like. Good investment, I reckon. Better than them flimsy things they sell nowadays that fall apart after a few washes. You know, good sturdy boots, a pair of jeans that fits just right, and a warm jacket. That’s all a person really needs, fashion or no fashion. Don’t need to be chasin’ after every new trend that comes along.
So that’s my two cents on this “fashion buzz”. Take it or leave it. Just remember to be yourself and wear what makes you happy. And for goodness sake, make sure your clothes are comfortable. Ain’t nothin’ worse than bein’ all gussied up and feelin’ like you’re trapped in a chicken coop.
