Okay, so everyone’s been raving about that Clinique Black Honey lipstick, right? But it’s always sold out, or maybe you just don’t wanna spend the money. I get it. So, I went on a mission to find a good dupe. My adventure started!
First, I hit up the internet, of course. I searched for “Black Honey dupes” and found tons of articles and videos. It was a little overwhelming, honestly. I spent a good hour just reading and watching reviews.
My Drugstore Expedition
Armed with a list of potential dupes, I headed to my local drugstore. I felt like a treasure hunter, scanning the shelves for the right shades.
- I grabbed a few different lipsticks that looked promising, mostly sheer, plummy colors.
- I swatched them on my hand, trying to compare them to the pictures I had on my phone. The lighting in the store was terrible, though!
- I ended up buying three different lipsticks that seemed like they might work. One was a super cheap one, just to see.
The Test
Back home, the real test began. I swatched all three on my lips, one after the other.
- The first one was way too pink. Nope.
- The second one was too brown. Strike two.
- The third, was pretty close! It had that same sheer, berry-ish tone,I think it is a great dupe!.
I wore it around the house for a few hours, and I gotta say, I was pretty happy. It wasn’t exactly the same, but it gave me that same vibe – that “my lips but better” look.
I finally got my own “black honey”!
