Can Gelatin and Fingernails Really Improve Growth? Find Out How It Works Here!

by Joyce Mackintosh

Okay, so I saw this thing online about how gelatin can supposedly make your fingernails grow faster and stronger. I was like, “No way, that sounds too easy,” but I figured, what the heck, I’ll give it a shot. My nails are always breaking and splitting, so I’m up for trying pretty much anything.

Getting Started

First, I went to the grocery store and picked up some unflavored gelatin. I made sure it was just plain gelatin, no added sugar or flavors or anything. I also grabbed a small bowl and some warm water. I read online that you need to mix the gelatin with warm water to dissolve it.

Mixing It Up

Back home, I followed the instructions on the gelatin packet. I poured about a tablespoon of gelatin into the bowl and added some warm water. I stirred it around until the gelatin dissolved completely. It looked kind of like a clear, thick liquid.

The Soak

Now for the fun part! I dipped my fingers into the gelatin mixture. It felt a little weird and slimy, but not too bad. I made sure all my nails were completely submerged. Then, I just sat there for about 15 minutes. I scrolled through my phone to pass the time.

The Aftermath

After 15 minutes, I took my fingers out of the gelatin and rinsed them off with water. My nails didn’t look any different immediately. I know it would take time for it to actually show.

Keeping It Up

I decided to do this gelatin soak every day for a week to see if I could notice any changes. It became a part of my nightly routine. I’d mix up the gelatin, soak my nails, and watch a show or read a book.

The Verdict

Okay, so after a week of doing this, I have to say… I think it actually worked! My nails feel a bit stronger, and they don’t seem to be breaking as easily. I noticed they grew a little bit faster than usual too. It’s not a huge difference, but it’s definitely noticeable.

Would I Recommend It?

Honestly, yeah, I think I would. It’s a super cheap and easy experiment to try. Even if it doesn’t work miracles, it’s a nice little self-care routine. Plus, my hands felt softer afterward too, so that’s a bonus! I’m gonna keep doing it and see if the results get even better over time.

  • Step 1: Buy some unflavored gelatin.
  • Step 2: Mix with warm water.
  • Step 3: Soak your nails for 15 minutes.
  • Step 4: Rinse and repeat daily.

So, that’s my gelatin and fingernails journey. If you’re struggling with weak nails, maybe give it a go! You might be surprised.
