Buying a Grand Seiko sbga467? Read This Important Guide First

Yesterday, I finally got my hands on the Grand Seiko SBGA467, the “Asakage” dial. I’d been eyeing it for a while, so I was pretty stoked to finally try it out.

First, I had to get it, right? I ordered it online. The waiting was the hardest part!

When the package finally arrived, I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas. Inside, nestled in the box, was the watch. Man, that first look… the dial really is something else in person.

Next, I needed to size the bracelet. That’s always a bit of a pain, but I’ve done it a few times before. I grabbed my little watch toolkit – you know, the one with the tiny screwdrivers and the pin pusher. I laid out a soft cloth on my desk to avoid scratching anything. I removed some links, then some pins, trying the bracelet on my wrist and then trying again, removed some more, until I got the fit just right. Took me a little while, but hey, gotta be patient with these things.

  • Popped out a couple of links.
  • Tried it on.
  • Adjusted again.
  • Repeated until it was perfect.

Once the bracelet was sorted, I set the time and date. The Spring Drive movement is pretty cool – the second hand just glides. It’s mesmerizing to watch.

Wearing It Around

I’ve been wearing the SBGA467 all day today. It’s super comfortable. The case size is just right for my wrist, and the Zaratsu polishing… pictures don’t do it justice. I found that the dial can turn from a light champagne-silver to a darker gray, depending on the light. I keep catching myself just staring at it. This is my new daily, for sure!
