Well, howdy there, y’all! Let’s talk about this here Beyonce Cowboy Carter costume thing. I heard folks are all in a tizzy about it, so let me tell you what I reckon.
First off, this whole “Cowboy Carter” thing, it’s somethin’ new for Beyonce, ain’t it? She’s usually singin’ that… that R&B and pop stuff, but now she’s gone country. My grandpappy woulda liked that, I reckon. He used to say, “If it ain’t got twang, it ain’t worth a dang!” Anyway, this Cowboy Carter, it’s like a whole new world of clothes and such.
Now, about them clothes… Them fancy folks, they call it “fashion.” Beyonce, she’s got a whole team of ’em, helpin’ her pick out what to wear. I heard tell there’s this Shiona Turini woman, and a whole bunch of others. They sure do make Beyonce look somethin’ special. They put her in all kinds of things, leather and such, shiny things too. Makes her look like a real fancy cowgirl, not like us regular folk who wear jeans and boots to slop the hogs.
You know, them old-timey cowboys, like George Strait and Willie Nelson? They wore leather, kinda worn-out lookin’, but then they had them shiny sparkly bits too. Beyonce, she’s kinda mixin’ them two looks, ya see? She got that worn leather look, but she also got that sparkle and shine. It’s what them city folks call “high-fashion rodeo-chic”. Sounds mighty fancy, don’t it? I just call it lookin’ good.
- Leather: Lots of leather, like them cowboys wear. But it ain’t just any ol’ leather, it’s that fancy kind, sometimes even that shiny patent leather. Makes you look tough but also kinda… glamorous. Is that the word?
- Sparkle: Yeah, she likes her sparkles, that Beyonce. Shiny things, rhinestones, whatever they call ’em. Makes her shine like a new penny. Makes her stand out in a crowd, that’s for sure.
- Hats: Big hats, little hats, all kinds of hats. A cowgirl ain’t a cowgirl without a hat, I always say. Keeps the sun outta your eyes, and makes you look… well, like a cowgirl!
- Boots: Can’t forget the boots! Cowboy boots, of course. High heels, low heels, pointy toes, square toes… I seen some with fancy stitchin’ on ’em too. Good for ridin’ horses, or just lookin’ good, I reckon.
- Western shirts and such: I’ve seen pictures of her in shirts with fancy yokes and fringe, sometimes even with sparkly bits on them. It’s all part of that “cowboy” look, I guess. They remind me of the clothes my husband used to wear to the rodeo, but a whole lot fancier.
So, how you gonna get yourself a Beyonce Cowboy Carter costume? Well, you could go out and buy all that fancy stuff, if you got the money. But if you’re like me, you gotta be a little more… resourceful. You can probably find some of this stuff at them thrift stores, you know? Them places where folks donate their old clothes. You might get lucky and find a good leather jacket or some boots. And for the sparkle? Well, you can always glue some shiny stuff on yourself, I reckon. Just don’t use my good glue, it’s for fixin’ things, not for dressin’ up.
And listen, it don’t matter if you’re new to this whole country thing, or if you’ve been listenin’ to it since you were knee-high to a grasshopper. Anybody can dress up like a cowgirl, even if you ain’t never been on a horse. It’s all about havin’ fun and feelin’ good, ain’t it? Just put on your boots, put on your hat, and let your inner cowgirl shine. That’s what I always say.
This Cowboy Carter thing, it’s got folks talkin’ about how black and brown folks helped make country music what it is today. Folks forgettin’ that, sometimes. But Beyonce, she’s remindin’ ‘em. She’s wearin’ them clothes and singin’ them songs, and showin’ the world that country ain’t just for one kind of folks. It’s for everybody.
Some folks, them critics they call ‘em, they say the album coulda used some fixin’, but what do they know? Beyonce, she put her heart and soul into this thing, and that’s what matters. She took that fancy city style and mixed it up with that good ol’ country look. And I reckon she did a mighty fine job of it.
So there you have it, my take on this Beyonce Cowboy Carter costume thing. It’s about leather, sparkle, hats, boots, and a whole lot of attitude. It’s about lookin’ good and feelin’ good, and maybe even learnin’ a little somethin’ about history along the way. And remember, you don’t need a lot of money to get the look. Just a little bit of ingenuity and a whole lot of sass.
