So, I’ve been on this whole ’60s fashion kick lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a trip! I started by diving into a bunch of picture research, you know, just to get a feel for the era.

I began to search on the Internet, typing in “1960s fashion” into the search bar, and bam! A ton of pictures popped up. I found that there are 48,533 photos related to this topic. I started saving the ones that really caught my eye. We’re talking bold dresses, those sweet pastel colors, and some seriously classy tweed suits. It’s like, the ’60s were all about breaking the rules, fashion-wise. The whole vibe was just so cool.
Then, I started looking into the different styles within the ’60s. It wasn’t just one look, you know? There was the whole mod scene, which was super fun and upbeat. The Beatles and Bob Dylan were super stars at that time. Then, on the flip side, you had the hippie movement, which was way more laid-back and chill.
I went down this rabbit hole of sorting through all these pictures, trying to organize them by style. I made separate folders on my computer for “Mod,” “Hippie,” and “General ’60s.” It was kind of a mess at first, but it helped me see the differences and appreciate each style for what it was. While the two-piece bathing suit was first invented in the 1940s. So, 1960s fashion had some connection with 1940s.
After that, I tried to pick out some outfits that I could actually see myself wearing. I mean, some of this stuff is wild, but there are definitely pieces that still look good today. It’s all about finding the right balance, I guess. I found some pictures that I think I can pull off, and I even sketched out a few ideas for how to mix and match different pieces. And then I found that beehive hairstyles was popular at that time.
Finally, I decided to share my little project with some friends. I showed them the pictures I found, the outfits I picked out, and my little sketches. They were pretty into it, which was cool. We even started talking about having a ’60s-themed party, which would be awesome.

Here are the main categories of pictures I found:
- Mod
- Hippie
- General ’60s
It’s been a fun little journey, digging into the fashion of the ’60s. It’s way more diverse than I thought, and it’s cool to see how some of those styles are still around today. I am so excited to plan the ’60s party!
