Okay, so let’s talk about airport fashion, something I’ve been trying to nail down for a while now. It’s all about looking put-together but feeling comfy, right?

First off, I started by scouring those glossy magazines and, you know, those Instagram feeds of celebs jet-setting around the world. I noticed a trend – lots of layers, comfy shoes, and always a big bag. Got it.
Then, I decided to put this into action on my trip to see my sister in New York. I packed a bunch of things I thought would work. My suitcase was a mess, honestly, but I figured I’d sort it out later.
My First Attempt
- I wore these tight jeans – big mistake.
- Also, I packed some new sandals that I hadn’t broken in yet, and I got blisters.
- Threw on a cute top, but it was too thin, and I was freezing on the plane.
- Carried a small purse that barely fit my phone and wallet, definitely not practical.
I learned my lesson the hard way. By the time I landed, I was uncomfortable and my feet were killing me. Not the chic traveler look I was going for.
Round Two
My next trip was a shorter one, just a weekend getaway. This time, I planned a bit better. Here is what I did:
- I opted for some stretchy, soft leggings.
- Paired those with my trusty sneakers that I knew were comfy.
- Layered a t-shirt, a light sweater, and a scarf – perfect for adjusting to different temperatures.
- Brought a big tote bag that fit all my essentials, plus a book and some snacks.
This time, I felt so much better! I walked off the plane feeling relaxed and put together. It was not perfect, but it was a huge improvement.

I’m still working on mastering the whole airport fashion thing. It’s a work in progress. But I’m getting there, one comfy outfit at a time.
