You know what? Today I wanna talk about a fragrance I recently tried out – Acqua di Gio Essenza. I’ve always been a huge fan of the original Acqua di Gio. It’s such a classic, and it reminds me of the beach, you know, that salty, fresh smell.

So, I saw this Acqua di Gio Essenza at the store, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” The original one’s been a bestseller for ages, and I figured the Essenza had to be good, too. I mean, it’s the eau de parfum version of the original, so I was expecting something a bit more intense.
I picked up a bottle and the first thing I did was, of course, give it a good spray. Right off the bat, I noticed it was different. Yeah, it’s got that familiar Acqua di Gio vibe, but it’s definitely spicier. I could smell some citrusy notes, like grapefruit, and something called calone, which I guess is what gives it that aquatic feel. And there were some flowery smells in there, too. It’s fresh, but not exactly like the original.
I wore it around for a few days to see how it would settle. I gotta say, it’s a pretty decent fragrance. It’s got that “department store” quality, you know, kind of like, you’ve definitely smelled something similar before. It’s not bad, but it didn’t really blow me away, either.
After a few days, I went back to the original Acqua di Gio. To be honest, it’s just more my style. This Essenza is ok, but I guess I just prefer the classic. I’ve heard some people say Profumo is even better, and then there’s this other one called Profondo. I might check those out sometime, but for now, I’m sticking with the original.
Here’s how I’d rank ’em, just my opinion:

- Profumo: Haven’t tried it yet, but it’s next on my list.
- Acqua di Gio (Original): My go-to, love that classic, fresh scent.
- Profondo: Gotta give this one a try, too.
- Acqua di Gio Essenza: It’s alright, a bit spicy, but not my favorite.
So, that’s my little adventure with Acqua di Gio Essenza. It was fun trying something new, but sometimes, you just can’t beat the classics, right?
