When did Southpole go into business? A Quick History!

by Afra Jennings

Okay, so I was digging around today trying to figure out when South Pole, that carbon credit company, actually started. It’s kinda tricky to find a straight answer, you know? So, here’s how I went about it.

When did Southpole go into business? A Quick History!

My Little Investigation

First, I went straight to the source – their website. I figured the “About Us” section would have the goods. I scrolled through a bunch of pages, reading about their mission and all that, but I couldn’t find a specific “founded in” date. Lots of talk about what they do, but not when they kicked things off.

Next, I fired up Google. I typed in a few different searches like “South Pole founding date” and “When was South Pole established?”. I got a bunch of articles about their projects and some news pieces, but still no clear answer. It was a bit frustrating, to be honest.

I even checked their LinkedIn page. I thought maybe their company profile would have the founding year listed. I found some employee profiles and some general info, but, again, no exact date. Feeling a bit like a detective with no leads!

I did find the answer on Wikipedia page of South * stated that “South pole was established in 2006”.

  • Started simple: Went to the company website.
  • Expanded my search: Used Google with different search terms.
  • Dug deeper: Checked LinkedIn for company info.
  • Tried to verify:finally found the answer.

It took a little more effort than I expected, but I finally managed to find at least some information. I guess sometimes you gotta be a bit persistent to find what you’re looking for, especially online!
