2024 FW Color Trend: Whats Hot and Whats Not?

by Rod Nichol

Well, howdy there! Let’s gab about them fancy colors everyone’s gonna be wearin’ and paintin’ their houses with in 2024. I ain’t no expert, mind you, just tellin’ ya what I’m hearin’ and seein’.

2024 FW Color Trend: Whats Hot and Whats Not?

This year, it’s all about bein’ bold, like a rooster crowin’ at dawn. Forget them wishy-washy, pale colors. We’re talkin’ bright and strong, like a fire in the hearth.

First off, red, like a big ol’ apple, is gonna be everywhere. Not just any red, mind you. We’re talkin’ siren red, bold and shoutin’ “look at me!” You’ll see it on boots, skirts, even whole outfits, like a tomato exploded all over ya, but in a good way, ya know? Them city folk are wearin’ red boots up to their knees! Imagine that! Must be keepin’ their legs warm, I reckon.

Then there’s pink. But not that baby pink they used to put on little girls’ dresses. This pink is earthy, like a dusty rose growin’ wild in the field. And there’s this peachy pink, too, like a ripe peach just waitin’ to be eaten. Someone even called it “Peach Fuzz,” sounds fuzzy and warm, like a kitten, I guess. They say it’s the color of the year. Fancy that!

  • Red – Like a fire engine, bold and bright.
  • Pink – Earthy pink, peachy pink, warm and cozy.

Now, for the spring and summer, they’re addin’ some more to the mix. Green, white, and blue are comin’ in strong. Think of a sunny day, green grass, white clouds, and a big blue sky. That’s what they’re aimin’ for, I reckon. Good, solid colors, like the ones we used to dye our clothes with, back in the day. Only theirs is probably fancier, comes in a store, not from berries and leaves.

And get this, they’re also talkin’ about metallic colors. Shiny stuff, like the pots and pans I got hangin’ in the kitchen, but way brighter. Gold, silver, all shimmery and glitzy. Sounds like somethin’ a magpie would like, all sparkly and bright. I ain’t sure I’d wear it myself, but them city folks seem to like it.

But it ain’t just clothes, ya know. They’re paintin’ their houses these colors too. Emerald green, sapphire blue, amethyst purple… Sounds like a bunch of rocks to me, but they’re pretty rocks, the kind rich folks wear on their fingers. They say it adds “depth and drama” to a room. I just want a room that’s clean and warm, but hey, to each their own, I always say. These deep dark colors are like the inside of a ripe melon, so rich and full of color.

So, there ya have it. The color trends for 2024, as far as I can tell. Lots of bold, bright colors, with a few soft ones thrown in for good measure. It’s all about makin’ a statement, I guess. Like a peacock struttin’ its stuff. If you’re buying new clothes or paint this year, you’ll see these colors everywhere! You’ll see them in the stores, the fashion magazines, even on them TV shows. They’re calling it “fashion month” and “every virtual shelf” and showing off all these clothes on those fancy phones. They say if you want to be “in”, you best be wearing these colors, but I think if it’s comfortable and covers you up, it’s good enough! But hey, fashion changes faster than the weather these days.

To sum it up, here’s the colors to look out for in 2024:

  • Bold reds and pinks, including siren red and peachy pink. These are strong colors, not for the faint of heart.
  • Spring/Summer colors: green, white, blue, and metallics. Think bright and cheerful, or shiny and eye-catching.
  • Jewel tones for home decor: emerald green, sapphire blue, amethyst purple. Rich and dramatic colors to make your house feel fancy.

Now, I gotta go feed the chickens. All this talk about color has got me thinkin’ about them pretty red combs on their heads. Maybe they’re in style too!

Remember, these are just colors, and the most important thing is to wear what makes you feel good. Don’t go chasin’ after every new trend, unless you got the money to burn, that is. Just find what you like and stick with it. That’s my motto, anyway.
