Okay, so, let me tell you about this little project I got myself into – making a Blue Mercury logo. Now, I’m no graphic designer, but I like to think I’m pretty handy with design software. And hey, who doesn’t love a good challenge, right?

First off, I had to figure out what this Blue Mercury thing even was. Turns out, it’s a pretty fancy beauty store, founded way back in 1999. They sell all sorts of cosmetics and even offer spa treatments. The more I dug into it, the more I realized that Blue Mercury is all about luxury and personalized service. They want to make you feel special and unique, which is kind of cool, I gotta say.

Now, onto the logo. I started by playing around with different shades of blue. I mean, it’s in the name, so it had to be blue. But not just any blue. I wanted something that felt sophisticated, you know? After a bunch of trial and error, I settled on a nice, deep blue that I thought captured the brand’s vibe perfectly.

  • Research: First thing I did was dive deep into what Blue Mercury is all about. Turns out, it’s this fancy beauty store chain started in ’99. They’re big on making you feel unique and special.
  • Color: Played around with a bunch of blues. It’s gotta be blue, right? Ended up picking a deep, classy blue that just felt right.
  • Font: This was a tough one. I tried a whole bunch of fonts, but none of them felt quite right. They were either too boring or too flashy. Then it hit me – I needed something simple and elegant. I ended up going with a clean, sans-serif font that I think looks pretty sharp.
  • Layout: At first, I tried putting the name “Blue Mercury” all on one line, but it just looked too cluttered. So, I stacked the words, with “Blue” on top and “Mercury” on the bottom. Much better.

The font was a whole other story. I went through what felt like a million different fonts. Some were too boring, some were too wild. I needed something that was both simple and elegant. Eventually, I found a clean, sans-serif font that did the trick. It looked modern but not too trendy, which is exactly what I was going for.

Then came the layout. I tried putting “Blue Mercury” all on one line, but it looked way too crowded. So, I stacked the words, with “Blue” on top and “Mercury” below. That made a huge difference. It looked much more balanced and visually appealing.

I kept tweaking things here and there, playing with the spacing, the size of the font, all that jazz. After a while, I finally had something I was happy with. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely something I could be proud of.

So, there you have it. My very own Blue Mercury logo. It might not be award-winning, but I learned a lot in the process. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually get to use it for something. Until then, it’s just a fun little project that I can look back on and say, “Yeah, I made that.”

I’m no expert, but I think playing with colors and designs is pretty fun. It’s like solving a puzzle, and when you finally crack it, it feels great. So, if you’re ever thinking about trying your hand at design, I say go for it! You might surprise yourself.
