My Little Tracking Project: Celebs in Miss Sohee

So, I started seeing these really eye-catching outfits pop up, you know, the kind that make you stop scrolling. Very sculptural, almost like works of art, not just clothes. Mostly on celebrities at big events. I got curious, naturally.

I did a little digging around online whenever I had a spare moment. Just typing stuff like “who wore that shiny flower dress” into search engines, that sort of thing. Found out pretty quickly the name behind them was Miss Sohee. Once I had the name, it was like, oh, okay, now I see it everywhere.

My process wasn’t very scientific, mind you. I just started kinda… collecting sightings? Like, if I saw a picture from a premiere or a music award show, and someone was wearing one of her designs, I’d make a mental note or sometimes save the picture to a folder on my computer. It became a little game.

  • First, I noticed them on singers known for really bold looks. Think people like Cardi B, maybe Ariana Grande? Those sorts.
  • Then saw some actresses trying her stuff too, often for magazine covers or photo shoots.
  • The designs always had these really intricate details. Lots of crystals, pearl stuff, and those signature dramatic shapes, often around the hips or shoulders.

It’s funny how this whole thing kicked off. Last year, I was stuck at home for a good chunk of time. Had this annoying bout of vertigo, couldn’t really do much without the room spinning. Awful stuff. So, I spent way too much time just lying down, browsing the internet on my tablet. Endless scrolling through news sites, gossip blogs, fashion accounts – anything to pass the hours without moving my head too much.

That’s when I really started noticing the clothes. Before, I’d glance, but being stuck like that, you pay attention to different things. And these Miss Sohee dresses just kept appearing. They were so different from the usual red carpet stuff. It gave me something specific to look out for, a bit of a focus beyond feeling dizzy, you know? It sounds silly, focusing on fancy dresses when you feel rough, but it was a welcome distraction. A bit of glamour when I was just stuck indoors feeling rubbish.

So, what came of it? Not much, really. I didn’t start a blog analyzing couture or anything. It was just a personal thing. I got a bit better at recognizing her style quickly. It was interesting to see how one designer could make such a splash relatively fast, seeing the same kind of silhouette appear on different famous people. Made me appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into those pieces, even just looking at photos online. It was just a phase, I guess, born out of boredom and vertigo, but kinda fun while it lasted. Just one of those weird little projects you give yourself sometimes.
