Alright, alright, let’s gab about them fancy ladies and their white dresses, you know, the white dress celebrity thing. I saw my grand-daughter lookin’ at pictures on her little phone, all these actresses and singers, dolled up like they’re goin’ to a fancy church picnic or somethin’. But lemme tell ya, white ain’t just white. There’s more to it than meets the eye, even for an old gal like me.
First off, these dresses, some are short, some are long, some are…well, let’s just say they don’t leave much to the imagination. My old eyes have seen it all! But they all got that white color, right? Makes ‘em look all pure and innocent, like little angels, ha! Don’t you believe it for a second. Some of ‘em are probably wilder than a corn snake in a hen house.
- Short and sassy white dresses, them are good for showin’ off your legs, if you got good legs, that is. Not like my old chicken legs, all wrinkly and whatnot.
- Then you got the long ones, the ones that sweep the floor. Those are fancy, like somethin’ a princess would wear. But they trip you up somethin’ fierce, I bet. Reminds me of that time I tripped over a bucket feedin’ the chickens, nearly broke my hip.
- And then there’s them…uh…revealing ones. Well, they’re…revealing. Let’s just leave it at that. Young folks these days, I tell ya.
Now, these celebrity gals, they don’t just throw on a white dress and call it a day. Oh no, they gotta accessorize, or whatever they call it. They put on shiny stuff, like necklaces and bracelets and…well, you name it. One thing my grand-daughter pointed out was these belts. Said a black belt with a white dress, that’s the ticket. Makes you look put-together, she says. I guess it kinda makes sense, black and white, like a checkerboard. Always liked a good checkerboard.
And purses! Lordy, the purses. These ain’t your grandma’s cloth bags, no sir. These are black clutches, shiny little things that cost more than my old truck, I reckon. They hold their lipstick and their phones, I guess. Back in my day, a pocket was good enough.
But why white, you ask? Well, I figure it’s ‘cause white stands out. Makes you the center of attention. These celebrities, they want all eyes on them, that’s for sure. Just like that rooster we had, always struttin’ around the yard, showin’ off his feathers. Same thing, just with fancier clothes.
My grand-daughter, she showed me this thing called “Pinterest”, said it’s full of ideas about these celebrity white dress outfits. I tell you, it’s a whole ‘nother world out there. People dress up for red carpets, for parties, for…well, just for the heck of it, seems like. Back when I was young, you dressed up for church and weddings, and that was about it.
But I gotta say, some of these ladies, they do have a signature style. You know, like they always wear a certain kind of dress or a certain color or somethin’. My grand-daughter pointed out a few, said they’re “iconic.” I guess that means they’re famous for their clothes, not just their singin’ or actin’. It’s kinda like how I always wear my apron, even when I’m not cookin’. It’s just…me.
So, this whole celebrity white dress thing, it’s kinda fascinatin’, even for an old woman like me. It’s a whole different world from what I know. But hey, I ain’t judgin’. They can wear what they want, long as they’re happy. And if they want to wear a white dress with a black belt and carry a fancy little purse, well, more power to ‘em. Me? I’ll stick to my overalls and my apron, thank you very much. It’s more comfortable, and it sure is easier to chase chickens in!
Inspiration for these white dresses, well, it comes from all over, I guess. From fancy designers, from old movies, from…who knows. My grand-daughter showed me pictures of all sorts of dresses. Some looked like somethin’ out of a fairy tale, all flowy and sparkly. Others looked like…well, they looked like they were about to fall apart. But that’s fashion, I guess. It don’t always make sense to an old gal like me.
And the shoes! Don’t even get me started on the shoes. High heels, sandals, boots…you name it, they wear it. How they walk in them things, I’ll never know. Give me a good pair of work boots any day. At least you can get somethin’ done in work boots.
Anyways, that’s my take on the celebrity white dress. It’s a whole lotta fuss and bother, if you ask me. But then again, I’m just an old lady who prefers comfort over style. But hey, if it makes them happy, that’s all that matters, right? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed them chickens. They’re probably wonderin’ where I am.
