Okay, so I kept seeing this Dior lip thing pop up quite a bit. You know, the one in the kinda pinkish case? Friends were using it, saw it online. Looked pretty slick, I guess.

I won’t lie, I was curious. It looked nice and everyone seemed to like it. But then you see the price. Always stopped me right there. Kept thinking, really? For a lip balm basically? Seemed like a lot.

Anyway, fast forward a bit, had a voucher thing I needed to use up before it expired. Wandered around the makeup section, saw the Dior stand. Figured, okay, let’s just do it. Use the voucher, won’t feel as bad spending the cash.

So I picked one. Just went for the classic pink one everyone seems to have. The process was simple enough, just grab, pay, leave. Felt a bit silly buying just one tiny thing but hey, mission accomplished.

Getting it Home and Trying It

Got it back home. The packaging is definitely nice, feels solid, got that weight to it. Looks good sitting on the desk, you know?

So I finally tried it on.

  • Took off the cap.
  • Twisted it up.
  • Put it on my lips.

It felt smooth going on, definitely. Had a nice little shine, not too much. Felt moisturizing. The color was subtle, just a little hint of pink, which is what I wanted anyway. Nothing crazy.

Here’s my take after using it for a while: It’s a nice lip balm. It does make my lips feel soft and adds a little something. It feels comfortable to wear, not sticky or heavy.

But, like, is it revolutionary? Changed my life? Not really. It’s good, don’t get me wrong. But I’ve used other lip balms that cost way less and also felt pretty good. Maybe they don’t look as fancy on the outside, though. I guess that’s part of what you pay for. Reminds me of when I bought those expensive sneakers once, thought they’d make me run faster. Spoiler: they didn’t. Still had to do the running myself.

It wears off like any normal balm too, especially if you eat or drink. So you gotta reapply it through the day. The little vanilla scent is nice, not too strong.

So, yeah. My Dior lip thing experience. Glad I tried it, satisfied the curiosity. It’s a nice little luxury item. Will I repurchase immediately when it runs out? Maybe not. It was nice to try, nice to have, feels a bit posh pulling it out of my bag. But for everyday use, I might just stick to something less pricey. It did its job, felt nice, looked nice. That’s about the long and short of it.
