Okay so every year I get confused about when exactly the damn New York Rockin Eve thing starts. Like yeah it’s New Year’s Eve but the timing? Always slips my mind. Wanted to know for 2024 so I started digging.
First thing I did was open up my laptop and just straight up typed “new years rockin eve 2024 schedule” into the search bar. Not even trying to be fancy about it. Clicked on a couple of pages that popped up – some news sites and whatnot. Scanned quick ’cause who’s got time for fluff?
Found out the main show kicks off December 31st at 8 PM Eastern Time. Like clockwork every damn year apparently. Made a note in my phone: “8 PM ET”.
But then I was like wait… what about the performances before Ryan Seacrest comes on? Dug a little deeper into one article that broke it down hour-by-hour. Saw they got pre-shows starting way earlier! My lazy ass never knew this. According to what I found:
- Some country music thing starts around 8:00 PM ET
- Then at 10:00 PM ET the Latin stuff hits the stage
- The main ABC broadcast with the big names? That fires up at 8:30 PM ET til damn near 12:15 AM
Almost forgot about the ball drop timing. Glad I kept reading. Saw multiple places confirming the actual ball drop happens when it always does – 11:59 PM ET leading into midnight. Wrote that down in caps in my notes like I was gonna forget New Year’s happens at midnight. Duh.
Double-checked everything against three different articles cause last thing I need is my buddies showing up late blaming me. All lined up solid on start times. Now I got the 2024 schedule burned into my brain till next year when I’ll probably have to search all over again.
