Right, so I finally decided to get myself a proper bag, something I could use pretty much every day. I’d been thinking about it for a while, you know, browsing online, looking in shop windows whenever I passed by.
I kept coming back to the YSL Loulou. Saw it on a few people, looked good, seemed practical enough. Wasn’t sure about the size at first. They have a few, right? Toy, small, medium… Went back and forth quite a bit.
Making the Choice
Eventually, I landed on the small Loulou. Seemed like the best bet for what I needed. Not too tiny, not massive either. I figured it would hold my essentials without being a big lump to carry around.
Ordering it was straightforward. Did it online. Just clicked the buttons, filled in the details. Then the waiting game started. Felt longer than it probably was.
First Look and Feel
The day the box arrived was pretty exciting, not gonna lie. Big sturdy box. Opened it up. Lots of packaging, dust bag, the usual stuff. Pulled the bag out.
- The leather felt really nice. Soft, kinda puffy from the quilting.
- The chain had some weight to it, felt solid.
- Color was exactly what I expected from the pictures online, which was a relief.
First thing I did was mess with the strap, figuring out how to wear it – long shoulder, crossbody, doubled up. Took a minute but got the hang of it.
Using It Day-to-Day
Started using it immediately. Transferred my stuff from my old bag. Phone, small wallet, keys, lip balm, hand sanitizer, sunglasses. It all fit, surprisingly well actually. The magnetic closure is pretty strong, snaps shut nicely.
I’ve been carrying it around for a few weeks now. To work, out for coffee, quick trips to the shop. It’s been convenient. Easy to grab and go. Doesn’t feel too heavy even with my stuff in it.
It’s funny, I remember ages ago working this awful temp job just to save up for anything nice. Pay was terrible, commute was long. Back then, something like this felt completely out of reach. Just getting through the week was the goal. So having this now, using it without thinking too much about it, feels like a milestone in a weird way. Shows how things change, I guess.
Final Thoughts So Far
So yeah, the small Loulou. It’s doing its job. Looks smart, holds my bits and pieces. It’s comfortable to carry. Obviously, it’s not magic, it’s just a bag. But it’s a good bag. Seems well-made. We’ll see how it holds up over time, but right now, pretty happy with it. It just works, you know?
