So I decided to hit up Hermes in Greenwich CT last Tuesday after hearing whispers about their exclusive leather stuff. Woke up around 10am, threw on my comfiest sneakers because standing in boutiques kills your feet, and chugged some cold brew before jumping on the Metro-North. That train ride always takes forever, seriously.

First Impressions Walking In
Boutique’s smaller than I expected – like cozy small, not cramped. SA named Margot greeted me real smooth, asked if I wanted sparkling water or coffee. Took the water cause, you know, hydration game strong. Told her straight up I wasn’t buying today, just scouting for the blog. She didn’t even blink, total pro.
The Leather Goods Deep Dive
Margot walked me through the back section reserved for leather. Man, that stuff ain’t on display for window shoppers. Here’s what actually caught my eye:
- Giant Kelly 25 in Matte Alligator: Thing felt like cold butter in your hands. Pitch black with purple undertones? Crazy exclusive.
- Constance Slim wallet in Ostrich: Bright peacock blue with contrast stitching. Fit six cards plus cash without bulging.
- Custom Picotin Lock 18: Saw some Greenwich regular ordered this in baby pink crocodile with gold hardware. Looked like Barbie’s dream bag.
Snapped quick pics with Margot’s permission (no close-ups of rare skins allowed though). Tried feeling the weight on a Birkin 30 Sellier – damn thing could’ve doubled as a dumbbell. Quality’s insane but good luck scoring one without connections.
The Greenwich Vibe Check
Observed while pretending to text: ladies in Lululemons and diamond hoops casually dropping 20K, husbands zoning out on velvet couches. Margot whispered some clients drive from New Jersey just for Greenwich exclusives. One lady was custom-ordering riding boots in orange lizard leather – because why not?
Got out after 45 minutes before my self-control cracked. Grabbed a lobster roll down the street, mulling over how these skins make regular leather feel like cardboard. Still dreamin’ about that matte croc Kelly though…
