Right, so I’d been thinking about getting some new kicks for a while. Nothing too fancy, just something solid for everyday wear. My old ones were getting seriously beat up, you know how it is.
I was just browsing online, not really looking for anything specific, maybe some generic sneakers. Then I stumbled across these Air Force 1s, but in this really nice olive green color. It wasn’t like the usual bright greens you sometimes see; this was more muted, kind of military-inspired but stylish. It just clicked. I thought, yeah, those look different, but in a good way. Not shouting for attention, but definitely not boring either.
The Search Begins
Finding them wasn’t exactly straightforward, though. Seems like everyone else had the same idea, or maybe they just didn’t make that many in that specific shade. I checked the main sneaker sites first – sold out in my size. Typical. Then I went through a bunch of department store sites, same story. It started getting a bit annoying, clicking through page after page.
I even tried looking on some resale apps, but the prices were just ridiculous. I wasn’t about to pay double for a pair of sneakers, no matter how much I liked the color. That’s just not me. I almost gave up, figured I’d just get a standard white pair like everyone else.
Getting Lucky
But then, I remembered this one smaller online shop I’d bought from ages ago. Didn’t even know if they were still around. Dug through my old emails, found the name, and pulled up their site. Lo and behold, they had the olive green AF1s listed. I clicked on my size, fully expecting the usual “out of stock” message, but nope! It actually let me add them to the cart.
Couldn’t believe my luck. I practically rushed through the checkout process before they could disappear. Put in my details, double-checked the size and color, and hit confirm. Got the order confirmation email almost immediately. Felt pretty good about that.
Waiting and Unboxing
Then came the waiting game. Standard shipping, so it took a few days. Tracked the package like a hawk, obviously. When the box finally arrived, it was just a plain brown shipping box, nothing special. Inside, though, was the proper Nike box.
Opening that up, there they were. The color was exactly like I’d seen online, maybe even better in person. That nice, deep olive green. The leather felt decent, standard AF1 quality, which is usually pretty reliable. Laced them up right away.
- Checked the stitching – looked clean.
- Made sure both shoes were the same shade (you never know!).
- Gave them the sniff test – yeah, that new sneaker smell.
First Steps
Tried them on, walked around the living room. Felt comfortable, just like Air Force 1s usually do. They fit perfectly, thankfully. The color just worked. It felt like a good choice, something a bit different from my usual rotation.
Wore them out the next day just running errands. They felt sturdy, comfortable for walking around. Didn’t get any specific comments or anything, but that wasn’t the point. They just looked good, felt good, and weren’t the same old thing. Pretty happy with how it all turned out after the initial hassle of finding them. Sometimes the extra search is worth it.
