Okay, so I found myself down at Venice Beach again last week. Just needed to walk, you know? Get some air, watch the waves. But you end up watching the people too, can’t help it.
Watching the Scene
And you really notice the women there. It’s a whole specific vibe. Not like other places. It’s casual, but it’s definitely a look. Took me a while to put my finger on it.
I started just sitting on one of those benches near the skate park. Watched people walk by. You see a lot of different things, but some stuff kept popping up.
- Those high-waisted jeans are everywhere. Seriously. The 80s thing. Still going strong. Paired with simple tops, sometimes just a bikini top. Looks comfortable, gotta say.
- Then you got the dress crowd. Lots of simple cotton sundresses. Easy, breezy. Looks like something you’d just toss in a beach bag and pull on after swimming. Practical.
- Saw some flowy maxi dresses too. More classic beach look, I guess. Usually with flat sandals. Makes sense, walking on sand and all that.
The Whole Vibe
It wasn’t just the clothes though. It was how they wore them. Relaxed. Confident. Like they didn’t spend hours getting ready, even if maybe they did. Effortless is the word, maybe?
And accessories are key. Saw tons of big sunglasses. Oversized ones. And wide-brimmed hats. Smart, really. That sun can be brutal. It pulls the whole look together, makes it feel intentional but still very Venice.
It’s not like high fashion, not trying too hard. It’s more about fitting the place. Sun, sand, a bit of that skater energy mixed in. Yeah, that’s kinda it. Just people living their life by the beach, dressed for it. Simple, but it works.
