My Little Adventure to Sniff It Out
So, I went on a mission. Headed to the department store, the usual spot. Sometimes these new things are hidden, or they haven’t even put them out properly. But this time, bam, there it was. The bottle for this “I Want Choo Le Parfum” – that’s what they’re calling it – looked pretty sleek, kinda like the other “I Want Choo” but maybe a bit more intense? I don’t know, bottles are bottles, right? But it caught my eye.
I grabbed the tester. You know that moment? The first spray is always a gamble. Will it be love at first sniff, or will I be running to wash it off? Drama, I tell ya.
What My Nose Told Me
Alright, so I sprayed it on one of those little paper strips first. Always do that. Then, braved it on my wrist.
First impression? Definitely fruity. I got a hit of something like pear, pretty clear. And then a bit of a darker berry vibe, maybe blackberry? It was quite bright at the start. They said gardenia is in there too, but for me, the fruit was way louder upfront.
Then, I let it sit for a bit, wandered around, pretended to look at other stuff. You gotta let these things develop, you know? It’s not a race. After like, 20 minutes, it started to change.
- The fruitiness calmed down a little.
- I started getting more of a floral heart. Jasmine, yeah, I could pick that out.
- And something else… a bit earthy, a little musky? They list patchouli and ambrette. Ambrette’s a new one on me, but I guess it’s doing something in the mix. It wasn’t like, super heavy patchouli, which can be a turn-off for me sometimes. This was more blended in.
And then the dry down, hours later. This is where it gets interesting for me. It became really warm and kind of sweet. Like praline, that sugary, nutty smell. And sandalwood, definitely some creamy woodiness. They even say moss? Can’t say I smelled actual moss, but there was a depth to it, not just straight-up sugar. It’s a whole journey, this scent.
So, What’s the Deal with This One?
You know, Jimmy Choo has a bunch of perfumes. Some are really aimed at the younger, party crowd, like I remember Flash, or Illicit. This “I Want Choo Le Parfum” feels… different. More grown-up, maybe? Not old lady perfume, don’t get me wrong. But it’s got a bit more oomph, more complexity than just a simple sweet scent. It’s like they’re saying, okay, the girl who wore Flash is now going to a fancier dinner.
Two people apparently made this, Amandine Clerc-Marie and Marie Salamagne. Fancy names, fancy perfume, I guess. It’s not one of those scents you forget straight away. It stuck around, that’s for sure. It’s funny, isn’t it? How a smell can totally change your vibe. I was just in my usual jeans and t-shirt, but sniffing my wrist, I felt a bit more… I don’t know, put together? Even though I was probably just heading home to make dinner.

But for an evening out, or when I want to feel a bit more… sophisticated? Yeah, I can see it. It’s one of those you wear when you want to make a bit of a statement, but not scream for attention. It’s more of a confident whisper. I’ll probably go back for another sniff, see if it still calls to me. That’s how it works with perfumes, right? They gotta choose you too, in a way.
