My Journey with Finding Clothes
Okay, so let’s talk about dressing when you’ve got a bigger chest. It’s been a whole journey for me, seriously. Not always easy finding stuff that fits right and doesn’t make you feel, you know, weird or uncomfortable.

I remember starting out, I used to grab really baggy tops. My thinking was, ‘Oh, this will just hide everything, make it less obvious.’ Wrong. Honestly, most of the time, it just made me look bigger all over, like I was wearing a tent. Not the look I was going for, trust me.
Then I swung the other way. Tried really tight tops. Figured if baggy was bad, tight must be good? Nope, also wrong. Felt super self-conscious, everything felt like it was spilling out, and forget about comfort. Plus, button-up shirts? Oh man, the dreaded gap. Always the gap.
Figuring Stuff Out
So, it took a lot of trial and error. Like, a LOT. I started paying more attention to the actual cut of the tops, not just the size.
- Necklines became key: I found V-necks were kind of magic. Same with scoop necks. They seem to break up the space a bit, looks more balanced, I guess? Sweetheart necklines work sometimes too, depends on the top. High necks? Usually make things look more pronounced for me.
- Fit is tricky: What I landed on is stuff that’s fitted, but not tight. Like, it follows my shape but doesn’t cling for dear life. There’s a difference. It needs to skim, not squeeze. Took me ages to figure that out. Forget super stretchy clingy fabrics most of the time.
- Structure helps: Tops with a bit more structure, maybe some darts or seams in the right places, often fit way better than flimsy, shapeless stuff.
It’s still a process, you know? Some days it’s easier than others. You find a brand or a style that works, and you stick with it. But yeah, baggy tents and sausage casings? Learned my lesson there. Just finding that middle ground, that’s been my whole mission.
