Use If You Musk Bath and Body? Check Out These New Releases

by Adelaide Davy

Hey everyone, so I’ve been meaning to share this little experiment I did with Bath & Body Works’ new fragrance, “If You Musk.” I saw it pop up on their website, and the name alone was enough to make me curious. I mean, “If You Musk?” It just sounded so intriguing, you know?

Getting Started

First thing I did was head over to the Bath & Body Works store. I wanted to get a good whiff of this thing before committing to a whole bottle. The store had a tester out, so I sprayed a bit on my wrist. The initial notes that hit me were definitely iris and a bit of pink pepper. It was kinda floral, but not too overpowering. There was also this underlying airy musk that gave it a soft, clean vibe. I walked around the store for a while, letting the fragrance settle, and I gotta say, I was really digging it.

The Experiment

Now, here’s where things got interesting. I decided to wear this fragrance every day for a week to see how it would evolve and how people would react to it. Bath & Body Works puts out, like, 250 new scents every year, but I felt like this one had potential. It wasn’t as popular as, say, Japanese Cherry Blossom or Eucalyptus Tea, but I thought it might be a hidden gem, you know like what they did to Perfect in Pink.

Day-by-Day Breakdown

  • Day 1: Sprayed it on in the morning before work. Got a few compliments from my coworkers. They said it smelled “fresh” and “different.” One person even asked what it was, so that was a good sign.
  • Day 2: Wore it to a casual lunch with friends. No specific comments, but I noticed people leaning in a bit closer when I was talking. Maybe it was just me, but I felt like the fragrance made me seem more approachable.
  • Day 3: Gym day. I was a bit hesitant to wear a fragrance to the gym, but hey, it’s part of the experiment, right? Surprisingly, it held up pretty well even after a sweaty workout. It mixed with my natural scent in a way that was actually kinda pleasant.
  • Day 4: Date night! I figured this would be the real test. My date didn’t say anything at first, but later in the evening, they mentioned that I smelled really nice. Score!
  • Day 5: Just a regular day at home, running errands and stuff. I noticed that the scent lingered on my clothes even after a few hours. It was subtle, but definitely there.
  • Day 6: Went to a family gathering. My aunt, who’s always super picky about fragrances, actually complimented me on this one. She said it was “sophisticated” and “not too sweet.”
  • Day 7: Last day of the experiment. I wore it to work again, and it felt like a familiar friend by now. I had gotten used to the scent, and I really enjoyed how it made me feel.

Final Thoughts

So, after a week of wearing “If You Musk,” I gotta say, I’m a fan. It’s a versatile fragrance that works for different occasions. It’s not too strong, but it definitely leaves an impression. Plus, it lasts a pretty long time, especially for a body spray. I don’t know if it will be a top fragrance like Japanese Cherry Blossom, it’s new since 2024 so not many people know it. But I think it’s worth checking out if you’re looking for something new and a bit different from Bath & Body Works.
