Why I Bother Picking Prada Jackets
Look, finding a decent jacket ain’t easy. Especially fancy ones. So I decided to drag my ass into the city and actually touch these things. Prada 2024 stuff is buzzing, right? Wanted to see if it’s worth the hype. Not just reading online junk.
Hitting The Store Feeling Awkward
Went into the downtown Prada store last Tuesday. Felt kinda stupid at first, everyone looking sharp and me in my old hoodie. Told the dude working there I wanted to look at the new men’s jackets. He was cool, just kinda let me poke around.
Grabbed a few off the racks:
- That Lightweight Tan Trench: Looked clean in pics online. Held it – felt thin but kinda nice. Like, papery almost. Pulled it on over my tee. Way too boxy on me. Looked like I stole my grandpa’s coat. Felt flimsy for the cash they ask. Passed.
- Shiny Blue Bomber Thing: Saw this all over Instagram. The material is weird, man. Slick, plasticky almost? Like a fancy raincoat. Tried a medium. Sleeves felt stupid short, and the waist? Tight as hell after lunch. Couldn’t move right. Just felt cheap, you know?
- Black Leather-ish Jacket (not real leather): This one caught my eye. Dark, simple. Touched it – has this subtle pebbly feel. Put it on. Fit was way better. Not glued to me, not swimming. Felt sturdy? Like it wouldn’t tear easy. Actually looked alright.
The Weird Reality Check
Walked around the store a bit wearing the black one. Checked myself in their big mirrors under those crazy bright lights. Honestly? Didn’t hate it. It felt… normal? But the price tag? Woof. Still, if you’re gonna blow cash on one Prada piece for 2024, this ain’t the worst choice. Doesn’t scream “look at me” too much. Took it off, told the guy maybe another time. Got outta there.
So What Actually Stuck?
After all that messing around, only two made sense in my head:
- The Simple Black Jacket (Whatever It’s Called): Only one that fit right off the rack. Feels like it might last. Looks sharp enough without trying too hard. Expensive? Hell yes. But if you gotta have Prada this year, this is the one I’d grind for.
- Maybe That Tan Trench (if altered): Still think it looked good hanging up. Needs serious tailoring, though. Who’s got time for that? Probably not worth the hassle unless you live near a wizard tailor.
Moral of the story? Always touch the stuff. Always try it on. Online pictures lie. Saw dudes online raving about the bomber. Felt like crap. That black jacket? Barely gets mentioned. Makes zero sense. Gotta do the legwork yourself.
