Okay, so I’ve been seeing all these posts about summer haircuts, and I figured, why not give it a shot myself? I mean, my hair was getting kinda shaggy, and it’s definitely time for a change.

The Inspiration Hunt
First things first, I needed some ideas. So, I started scrolling through, you know, everywhere. Just looking at pictures of guys with cool hair. I saved a bunch that I liked, a whole mix of styles, really. Short ones, slightly longer ones, some with fades, some without – just trying to get a feel for what’s out there.
Making the Cut (Literally)
After a few days I decided to visit my friend, she’s not a professional, but she cuts her boyfriend’s hair, and he always looks pretty good, it seemed worth the risk. I showed her the pictures I’d saved, and we talked about what might work with my hair type and face shape. This part was a little nerve-wracking, I am not good at visualizing it!
Then, she started cutting. Seriously, I always hold my breath a little at this stage, just hoping it all turns out okay, my heart always racing a * worked slowly and carefully, I like her style. Checking in with me regularly to make sure I liked the length and the shape. That was nice, she put my mind at ease.
The Styling Experiment
Once the cutting was done, it was time to play with * put some product in my hair, just a little bit of something to give it some texture. I don’t usually use much product, so this felt kinda weird at first. She showed me how to kinda mess it up a bit, so it didn’t look too “done.”
- Tried a few different ways of parting it.
- Scrunched it up a bit for a more textured look.
- Even tried slicking it back, just for fun (didn’t love that one, to be honest).
The Final Verdict
Honestly, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! It’s definitely different, and it feels so much lighter and cooler for the summer. It’s not perfect, there are definitely things i will change next time, but I learned a lot through the process. I’m going to keep experimenting with different styling products and techniques, but overall, I’d call this a successful summer haircut adventure!
