How I Tested adidas Outfit Combos Step by Step
Okay so last Thursday I dragged my lazy butt to the mall wanting some fresh kicks. Ended up trying on basically half the adidas store like a madwoman. Started with this all-black pair with chunky soles everyone’s raving about – y’know the ones that look like spaceships? Threw ’em on first thing.

Grabbed three basic tops: plain gray tee, that heather blue hoodie from last season, and this acid-wash cropped jacket. Dug through the pants rack screaming internally cause sizes were all mixed up. Finally scored matching sweats and those tapered track pants people wear to brunch now.
First combo disaster zone: black kicks + gray hoodie + black sweats. Felt like a UPS delivery guy who forgot his truck. Changed into the track pants instantly – thank god for store fitting rooms having mirrors.
Second try saved my life: put on the blue hoodie with white stripes down the arms. Paired it with light grey sweats and those black platform sneakers. Suddenly didn’t hate my reflection! Took bathroom mirror selfies like a teenager.
Third experiment got risky with the cropped jacket. Threw it over the gray tee with track pants tucked into thick white socks. Looked accidentally cool? Got side-eyed by this grandma while posing near mannequins but zero regrets.
What actually worked:
- Monochrome anything with the chunky shoes (white on white or blackout)
- Light hoodies contrasting dark pants
- Tucking pants into socks ONLY with cropped jackets
Total fails:
- Bright colors near my face (washed me out like vampire)
- Wide pants with platform soles (looked like clown shoes)
- Mixing too many logo pieces (felt like walking billboard)
Ended up buying just the black sneakers and grey track pants cause adult budgeting sucks. But now I know exactly how to look like I tried when I actually rolled outta bed.
