Short Trench Coats for Ladies: Find Your Perfect Style (Cute & Chic)

by Adelaide Davy

Okay, so I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect short trench coat. You know, the kind that’s chic but also practical for everyday wear. I wanted something that I could throw on over jeans and a tee, but also dress up a bit if I needed to. So I’ve been doing some serious digging, and here’s how I’ve finally cracked it.

The Search Begins

First, I hit up all my usual online stores. I spent hours, seriously, hours, scrolling through pages and pages of coats. I quickly realized that “short trench coat” means different things to different people. Some were barely covering my hips, others were more like a mid-thigh thing. I was aiming for something in between – something that would give me some coverage but not overwhelm my frame.

Narrowing Down the Options

I started making a list of what I really wanted:

  • Material: I wanted something water-resistant, obviously, but also not too stiff. A bit of a drape is nice.
  • Color: Classic beige was my first thought, but I also considered navy or even a dark green.
  • Details: I love the classic trench details – the double-breasted front, the belt, the epaulets. But I didn’t want it to look too fussy.
  • Fit: This was the tricky part. I wanted it to be fitted enough to look stylish, but still have room for a sweater underneath.

Trying Things On (and Sending Them Back)

I ordered a bunch of coats online, knowing that I’d probably have to return most of them. And yep, that’s exactly what happened. The first one was way too short. The second one was the right length, but the material felt cheap and plasticky. The third one was almost perfect… except the sleeves were ridiculously long. Ugh!

I get a classic beige color coat, and take notes of the every detail.

It is a Double-breasted style coat, also I found storm flap, and belt.

The Breakthrough!

I was about to give up, but then I stumbled upon a coat from a brand I hadn’t really considered before. It was a little more expensive than the others, but the reviews were amazing. I decided to give it a shot, and… bingo!

It was the perfect length, hitting just above my knees. The material was a beautiful, soft, water-resistant cotton blend. It had all the classic trench details, but in a slightly more streamlined way. And most importantly, it fit like a dream! It was fitted through the shoulders and chest, but still had enough room for *, I did it.

So, after all that searching and trying on, I finally found my perfect short trench coat. It just goes to show that sometimes, you have to put in the effort to find exactly what you’re looking for. But it’s totally worth it in the end!
