Okay, so today I wanna talk about something a bit different – adding a brooch to a shirt. Yeah, you heard that right. I know, brooches might seem a bit old-fashioned, like something your grandma would wear, but trust me, they’re making a comeback! I saw it somewhere online, and I just had to give it a try.
So, first things first, I needed a shirt. I decided to go for a plain white one because I figured it would be the most versatile. I hit up a couple of stores, browsed through a bunch of options – you know, long sleeves, short sleeves, different materials. Honestly, there were so many choices! I ended up going to the one nearby. They’ve got tons of stuff, from casual tees to dressier shirts. Finally settled on a simple, classic button-down.
Next up, the brooch. This was the fun part! I wanted something that would stand out but not be too over-the-top. I dug around in my jewelry box, and I have this little collection of vintage brooches I’ve picked up here and there. Found a lovely little silver one with some sparkly stones. Perfect!
Now, the tricky part – where to put it. I remembered reading somewhere that you’re supposed to wear brooches on the left side, something about military tradition? Anyway, I pinned it to the left side of my shirt, near the collar. I tried to make sure the pin was vertical, just like I read online, to keep it from snagging on the fabric. It is not easy though, my brooch was a little heavy.
Here’s what I did:
- Picked out a plain white shirt. A good canvas for any brooch.
- Found a cool brooch. I went with a vintage silver one.
- Pinned it to the left side of my shirt. Followed the “rules,” haha.
- Made sure the pin was straight. To avoid any fashion mishaps.
The Result
Honestly, I was pretty happy with how it turned out! It added a touch of personality to an otherwise plain outfit. It’s not something I’d wear every day, but it’s definitely a fun way to switch things up. I even got a couple of compliments! Who knew a little brooch could make such a difference? I might try this again with a different shirt and brooch combo. Maybe a darker shirt with a brighter brooch? The possibilities are endless!
