Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another adventure! So, last night was pretty wild. I’m talking about that insane Dior and Saks light show in NYC. Man, let me tell you, I decided to check it out because I heard some buzz about it, you know, being the 20th anniversary and all that jazz.
First off, I grabbed my camera and headed over to the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store. I got there, and it was already pretty packed, people all around, eyes glued to the building. I heard that they canceled the usual light show, which is a bummer because of some sales issues, but Dior stepped in to create something different.
The Setup
- I made sure to find a good spot where I could see everything.
- Started setting up my camera, you know, getting the angles right, adjusting for the dark and the lights.
Then, the show began. It wasn’t the usual LED thing they do. Dior had this whole “Carousel of Dreams” vibe going on. They projected all these cool symbols like stars, clovers, and even Zodiac signs onto the building. It was like Monsieur Dior’s lucky charms were coming to life right there. And flowers, tons of them, all over the place. It was pretty trippy, to be honest.
I snapped a bunch of pictures and took some videos. I mean, I had to document this. Even though it wasn’t the usual massive light show, it was still something special. It felt like a mix of old-school Dior elegance and that classic New York holiday spirit. But I heard some people were mourning for the usual light show, and I can understand that, it is a big tradition, after all.
Capturing the Magic
- I kept moving around, trying to get the best shots.
- Zoomed in on the details, like the intricate designs and how they interacted with the building’s architecture.
After the show ended, I hung around a bit, chatting with some other folks who were there. Some loved it, others were kind of on the fence, missing the old show. But hey, change is the only constant, right?
Anyway, I packed up my gear and headed home. It was a night well spent. Even though it was different from what Saks usually does, this Dior show had its own charm. It was a reminder of how fashion and art can come together to create something magical, especially during the holiday season.

So, that’s my story of the Dior light show at Saks. Hope you guys enjoyed the ride. Until next time, keep exploring and stay curious!
