I found a website that explained how to decipher the code. I also read that the stitching on real LV bags is super neat and even. No loose threads or uneven stitches.
I felt pretty confident after all this research. I decided to go to a few different stores that sell used luxury bags. I figured that way, I could inspect the bags in person and put my new knowledge to the test.
At the first store, I looked at a few bags, but something felt off. The logos looked a little too thin, and the stitching wasn’t as perfect as I expected. I decided to pass.
The second store was better. I found a city bag that looked promising. I checked the logo, the interior label, the monogram, and the thread. Everything looked good so far. Then I found the date code and checked it against the website I found earlier. It matched! And the stitching was perfect. I also noticed that every LV box has the LOUIS VUITTON logo prints on the surface.
I decided to take the plunge and buy the bag. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and I’m so happy with it. I feel good knowing that I did my research and was able to spot a real Louis Vuitton city bag.
