Okay, so I’ve been eyeing the Mido Ocean Star GMT for a while now. I love the look of dive watches, and the GMT function is super useful for me since I’m always tracking different time zones. Finally decided to pull the trigger and get one, and I’m gonna walk you through my whole experience with it so far.

First off, finding the right one was a bit of a hunt. I wanted the model with the blue dial and the fabric strap. Checked out a few online retailers and some local shops, ended up finding one in pretty good condition from a reputable seller.
Once I got it, the first thing I did was, of course, size the strap. It was a little tricky at first with the deployment clasp, but I watched a couple of videos and figured it out. Feels pretty comfortable on the wrist, not too heavy, not too light.
Then, I played around with setting the time and the GMT hand. The crown action is really smooth, and it was easy to set the local time, date, and the GMT hand to track another time zone. I’m currently using it to keep tabs on my friend who’s traveling in Europe.

It’s a pretty useful feature, even if you’re not actually diving.
I’ve been wearing the watch for a couple of weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m loving it. It’s a really solid, well-built watch, and it looks great. The blue dial is super vibrant, and the lume is fantastic – it glows really bright in the dark.

I even took it for a swim in the pool the other day, just to test out the water resistance. No issues at all, as expected. It’s rated for 200 meters, so I’m not worried about taking it in the water.
Overall, I’m super happy with my Mido Ocean Star GMT. It’s a great watch for the price, and it’s definitely going to be a regular in my rotation. If you’re looking for a good-looking, functional, and affordable GMT diver, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
