Okay, so, today I was thinking, what’s a fun project to do? And then it hit me – student council posters! But not just any posters, I wanted to make some hilarious ones. You know, the kind that makes people stop and actually read them, and maybe even chuckle a bit.
First thing I did was jump onto Pinterest. I just typed in “funny student council campaign posters” and “student council poster ideas funny” into the search bar and, man, did it deliver! I found a ton of ideas, it’s like a goldmine for this kind of stuff. I started saving a bunch of pins that I thought were clever and funny. There were all sorts of puns and jokes, it was great! Some were cheesy, but hey, cheesy can be good, right?
Then, I started sketching out some ideas of my own. I was thinking, what’s a funny way to get people’s attention? I mean, these elections, they can be so boring with those awkward speeches and stuff. I wanted something different, you know, something to stand out. I jotted down a few slogans, played around with some silly drawings, you know, the usual brainstorming stuff. I spent a good hour just doodling and writing down whatever popped into my head.
After I had a few solid ideas, I grabbed some poster boards and markers. Time to get messy! I started with a poster that said, “Vote for me, I won’t make any promises I can’t keep… like free pizza every day.” I know, it’s a bit silly, but it’s also kind of true, right? No one can promise free pizza every day! That will bankrupt our student council for sure!
I made another one with a picture of a cat wearing glasses, looking all serious. Underneath it, I wrote, “I’m not kitten around, I’m the purr-fect candidate.” I thought it was pretty clever, and I love cats, so why not? I spent the rest of the afternoon drawing, coloring, and basically making a beautiful mess.
- A poster with a stick figure trying to do complicated math, and it says, “I may not be good at math, but I can count on your vote!”
- One with a picture of a sloth, and the slogan is, “Vote for me, I’ll work at my own pace… which is still faster than Congress.”
- And my personal favorite, a poster that just says, “Vote for me, or don’t. I’m not your mom.”
Here’s what I ended up with:
I gotta say, this was a blast! I ended up with a stack of posters that I think are pretty darn funny. Now, the real test is to see if they actually get people to vote. Fingers crossed! But even if they don’t, at least I had fun making them, and hopefully, they’ll give a few people a good laugh. That’s a win in my book, I’ll tell you that.
