So, everyone’s been talking about this Casetify Sonny Angel thing lately. I kept seeing it pop up, you know, online, people sharing pictures. Sonny Angels themselves are kinda weird, right? Little naked baby figures with hats. Been around forever, I think. My niece had a few ages ago.
Anyway, Casetify jumps on it. They do that a lot, grab onto whatever’s trending. I needed a new phone case, mine’s looking pretty beat up after dropping it like, a dozen times. So I thought, alright, let’s see what the fuss is about.
Checking Out the Collection
Went onto their site. Took ages to load, as usual. Finally got to the Sonny Angel section. They had a bunch of designs. Some just had one big Angel on the back, others had patterns with lots of tiny ones. Different case types too – the super chunky protective ones, the slimmer ones, the clear ones.
- Designs: Lots of pastels, very cutesy. Typical Sonny Angel vibe.
- Case Types: The usual Casetify range. Always feels like you’re paying extra for that black camera ring with their name on it.
- The Figures?: For a second I thought maybe they came with a little figure, but nope, just pictures on the case.
The Decision Making… or Lack Thereof
Here’s the thing. They look okay. Cute, I guess, if you’re really into Sonny Angels. But the price… man. Casetify is never cheap, is it? You’re paying for the brand name and the collab name. I looked at the price tag and just thought, “Really? For a picture of a little plastic doll?”
My main issues were:
First, the price. It just felt steep for what it is. I’ve bought decent, tough cases for way less. They might not have a trendy baby on them, but they stop my screen from smashing.

Second, the hype. It felt like one of those things people buy just because it’s popular right now. Reminds me of when everyone suddenly needed those Stanley cups. I dunno, maybe I’m just getting old, but I get tired of chasing the next ‘it’ thing.
Third, practicality. Would I still like looking at it in a month? Or would I just get bored? My phone case is a tool, basically. It needs to protect the phone. The picture on the back is secondary.
So, What Happened?
In the end, I didn’t get one. Clicked off the site. Maybe if they were cheaper, or if I was a massive Sonny Angel collector, but I’m not. I ended up just ordering a plain, solid-colored case from another brand I trust. Cost me less than half the price.
It’s fine if people love them, really. Collect what you want, decorate your phone how you like. But for me, going through the process, looking at the Casetify Sonny Angel stuff just reminded me that sometimes the simple, practical option is the way to go. Saved myself some cash and probably a bit of buyer’s remorse later on.
