Okay, so I’ve been seeing “jorts” all over my feed lately, and I gotta admit, I was skeptical. Like, jean shorts? On guys? I wasn’t sure. But I’m nothing if not adventurous with my style (sometimes to my detriment, haha), so I decided to give it a whirl. This is my journey into the land of men’s jorts outfits.
The Jorts Hunt
First things first, I needed some jorts. I didn’t want to commit to anything fancy, so I hit up a local thrift store. I figured if this whole experiment went south, I wouldn’t be out too much cash.
Finding the right pair was… a process. Some were way too short, others were giving me serious dad-on-vacation vibes. I finally found a pair that were a decent length – hitting just above the knee – and a nice, medium wash. Score!
Experimenting with Outfits
This is where the fun (and the mild panic) began. I rummaged through my closet, trying to figure out what the heck to wear with these things.
- Attempt #1: The Classic Tee. I threw on a plain white t-shirt. It was… fine. Basic, inoffensive, but not exactly setting the world on fire. I felt like I needed something more.
- Attempt #2: The Graphic Tee. Okay, this was a little better. I grabbed a vintage band tee, which added a bit of personality. I also rolled up the cuffs of the jorts a couple of times, which I think helped.
- Attempt #3: The Button-Down. I wanted to see if I could dress the jorts up a bit. I tried a short-sleeved, patterned button-down shirt. I left it untucked, and surprisingly, I didn’t hate it! It was giving me casual, summer-party vibes.
- Attempt #4: Adding A Layer.I have a super light bone color bomber style jacket.I wear this jacket and it make me look so good.
The Verdict
Alright, so after a day of wearing jorts, I’m officially… a convert? I think? They’re definitely more versatile than I thought. The key is finding the right fit and length, and then just experimenting with different tops and shoes.I’m not sure I’ll be wearing them every day, but they’ve definitely earned a spot in my summer wardrobe rotation. My favorite look so far has to be the graphic tee and the added light jacket. I feel comfy but still put together.
Would I recommend jorts? Yeah, I would! Don’t be afraid to try something new, you might just surprise yourself!
