Alright, so, I’ve been seeing this red Carolina Herrera gown everywhere lately, the one Meghan Markle just wore again. It’s a stunning dress, I’ll give you that, and the first time I saw it, I thought, “I gotta try that on!”

First, I spent hours online trying to find out more about it. It looks like she first wore it in 2021, and now she’s brought it back out for some red carpet event. Classic! I also read that Meghan is a warm-toned person. I started to wonder, maybe this dress would look amazing on me too? Or would it totally wash me out?
Then, I dug a little deeper into the actual making of the dress. This is where things get really crazy. Apparently, it took a team in Paris five months to make this dress and the veil that came with it! I mean, 3,900 hours of work just for the veil, eight fittings, the whole nine yards. And it was all a collaboration between Meghan and the design team. That’s some serious dedication to fashion, I gotta say.
Of course, after finding all this out, I was even more obsessed. But there was one problem: I’m not exactly royalty, and I definitely don’t have a royal budget. I searched everywhere, but all the information about getting a dress like this was about Meghan’s original.
One thing I did find out though, is that Meghan apparently pays for her own clothes. This blew my mind a little, given how much she must spend on her wardrobe! But then I thought, she’s a major influencer, so maybe she gets some sweet deals? Anyway, it doesn’t really matter. The point is, I was on my own.
So I decided to get creative. I started looking for similar styles, something with that same vibrant red color and flowy silhouette, but that would be easy on my bank account. I went online and looked through stores I had never heard of, searched through every online marketplace I could think of. And let me tell you, it was a journey.
I finally found a dress that, while not an exact replica, had a similar vibe. I ordered it and it was delivered to me this morning. I quickly put it on and looked at myself in the mirror. It’s not Carolina Herrera, but it’s beautiful, and I think it really suits me.
So, that’s my little adventure with the Meghan Markle red dress saga. I’m not going to be wearing it to any red-carpet events, but I do feel pretty darn good in it, and that’s all that matters, right?
