Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “McLaren x 1” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride. I started this project completely blind, not really knowing what I was getting myself into. Just saw the name and thought, “Sounds cool, let’s do it!”

First, I googled it. Yep, that’s always the first step, right? I needed to see what this whole McLaren x 1 was about. Turns out, it’s some kind of design collaboration, maybe a car, maybe something else, it wasn’t super clear at the time. Lots of fancy images and buzzwords, you know how it is.
Digging In
So, after getting a vague idea, I decided to just jump in. I figured the best way to learn was by doing. I started by sketching out some ideas on paper. Nothing fancy, just some rough shapes and concepts. I was trying to capture the “feel” of a McLaren – sleek, fast, powerful, you get the idea.
- Sketching: Started with basic shapes, trying to get a feel for the design.
- Research: Kept googling, looking at different McLaren models, trying to understand their design language.
- Frustration: Yeah, there was a lot of that. Lots of crumpled-up paper and deleted files.
Then I moved to my computer. I’m no pro designer, but I know my way around some basic 3D modeling software. I started blocking out shapes, pushing and pulling vertices, trying to create something that looked remotely like a car… or whatever this thing was supposed to be. It was messy, I’m not gonna lie. Lots of trial and error.
The “Aha!” Moment (Sort Of)
After hours of messing around, I finally had something that didn’t look completely terrible. It wasn’t perfect, far from it, but it was a start. I started adding some details, playing with colors and textures. Slowly, very slowly, it started to resemble something. I started experiment with the color and texture of the car, trying to make something cool.
I’m still not entirely sure what I’ve created. Is it a car? A spaceship? A futuristic toaster? Who knows! But it’s been a fun process, and I’ve learned a lot along the way. I guess that’s the whole point, right? To learn and experiment and see what happens.

So, yeah, that’s my McLaren x 1 journey so far. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m excited to see where it goes. Maybe I’ll even figure out what it is eventually! Stay Tuned!
