Okay, so I’ve been on this quest to find a new cologne, something classic, you know? I’ve been rocking the same scent for like, years, and it was time for a change. I decided to check out the original Polo cologne – the green bottle, the whole deal. It’s supposed to be, like, the iconic men’s fragrance, right?

First, I hit up the department store. I’m not gonna lie, it’s a little intimidating walking into those fancy fragrance areas. All the bottles are so shiny, and the salespeople are always so…perfumed. Anyway, I found the Polo section and there it was – the classic green bottle with the gold polo player.
I sprayed a little on one of those paper strips. My first impression? Whoa, that’s…strong. It’s definitely got that old-school vibe, very masculine, very…woody? I don’t know, I’m not great at describing smells. It smelled like leather and maybe some pine? It was definitely intense.
I walked around the store for a bit, letting the scent settle. You know, they always say you gotta let it mix with your body chemistry or whatever. After about 20 minutes, it calmed down a little. It was still strong, but a bit more…refined? I could start to smell some other notes in there, maybe some tobacco and something a little spicy.
- Top Notes: (What I smelled at first) – Super strong, woody, pine-y.
- Middle Notes: (After it settled) – Leather, tobacco, a bit spicy.
- Base Notes: (The lingering scent) – Still woody, but more mellow, kind of earthy.
I decided to get a small sample bottle, ’cause I wasn’t totally sold yet. I wore it for a few days, trying it out in different situations – work, going out, just hanging around the house. Honestly, it’s growing on me. It’s definitely a statement fragrance, not something you’d wear if you want to be subtle.
My Overall Thoughts So Far:
It’s a very powerful, long-lasting scent. I think it is great, it smells classic and confident. And I’m still getting used to it, but I think I like it. It’s definitely a scent for a grown-up, not a teenager, you know? I felt kind of powerful wearing it, like I could conquer the world or something.

I might make this one of my rotation.
